Default Dancing?

OK... so... I love to dance... with people mostly... but... yeah. I would love to learn how to REALLY dance... not just "jump jump jump" and occasionally move my hips.

Last night I danced nonstop from 9:00 PM until midnight. I was pretty exhausted by the end of it, but felt pumped. And this wasn't just lightly moving stuff... no... it was like... intense dancing. No grinding with other guys... I'm not that kind of girl... but... yeah. That type of dancing... just on my own. I was sweating buckets by the end... but felt great.

So... I was wondering if you guys had any ideas of dancing stuff? I love to dance. I love music... but I'm a horrible dancer. I've heard that the Zumba stuff is good... but... I don't know. I can't take dance lessons... for multiple reasons I don't feel like going into right now.

But yeah... I would just do it at home... but I don't know what to do.

So... thoughts? I'm thinking of interchanging this with my long camera wielding walks (which I'll leave on as soon as the hot texas sun goes down a bit more... ), and maybe some kind of strength training.

I have a friend that teaches Zumba. She got me into it. I think she said you can burn about 200 or 300 calories a workout if you try hard and push yourself. It is a lot of fun, especially if you love dancing.

I personally love going to classes because I thrive on other peoples enthusiasm for the class and it makes me have more fun and work harder. I only go to them for fun now because I fell in love with Spin classes. Some of the steps can get tricky so there are plenty of people that know the steps so you can watch and learn from them.

It's a great way to start working out. Tons of fun. Good luck

I'm addicted to dance and go to clubs and dance parties a couple of times a week. I think my dancing records stands at 6 hours of fast dancing without a single break, not even for the bathroom. I was really dehydrated by that though. I wouldn't recommend it.

As for Zumba, there are a lot of you tube videos you could use for practice and don't cost anything. I tried it out to improve my dancing and it was fun.

Another thing I do is watch good dancers on the dancefloor and imitate them. Men tend to be more acrobatic and it's fun to try their moves.

I am a terrible dancer but I love hopping like a bunny for hours. I'm amazed how the music keeps me going and I rarely feel tired.
