Default newbi on the loose

Hi, im new to this forum and slightly new to dieitng.. when younger didnt have an issue.. then when i did get fatter, my mother died ( was 26) and well i was so overly depressed didnt care.
now i am trying to get healthier.
i weighed 160, and i am 5'2 and my dr said i was obese... which i found odd. since alot of the weight is in my chest (size H cups) but i am a size 16 stretch, size 17 non stretch jeans. so im totaly wanting to work on loosing alot of the belly and back fat.

i didnt push my deiting too much..just now got down to 150. but the past 2 week been hard hitting my diet, only 2 cans of pop a day (120 calories each) everone like stop drinking it. if i stop drinking it i know i wont continue to diet. so i consider it my desert lol. trying to exerscise more.

Just need a little help, a place to talk and all that. so that is why i am here.
sorr about the life history lol i get talky sometimes.

anyway feel free to ask me things.
i am curiouse about these diet and fit blogs though

Welcome to 3FC, you'll get lots of support here!

I'm not going to recommend you totally give up the soda - everyone needs a treat. But I will caution that 240 calories is a big hunk out of your daily calories. You will really have to make every other calorie count. If you could cut it down to one pop a day, or cut your pop with seltzer (I'm not a huge soda drinker and actually prefer it half and half with a complementary seltzer flavor - half the calories, twice the fizz!). Might be worth trying.
There's a section for calorie counters and lots of folks there who can give excellent advice.

As for the blogs - fitday is like myplate and sparkpeople and is a place to track your daily calories. The 3fc blogs are wordpress blogs. I use mine to track progress and thoughts and recipes I've found i really like but everyone's blog is different.

Welcome again! You'll love it here.

Good Luck to you, I started last week and have received some good support. Having a bt of a hard tome today...I am this close to going out for ice cream. I am really motivated but old habits die hard. Wondering if I have some fear of actually achieving my goal, anyone ever experience that?

Hi Sandy....Welcome! I know it's hard but Hang in There! Make you some Baked Sweet Potato Fries they're Yummy! We have to find healthier substitues! I grilled Veggies & Shrimp for dinner it was Great! I had Bell Peppers, Onions, Zucchini, Squash, Mushrooms & Shrimp. Having a Ticker I think makes it more Fun too! You have to make 20 posts & I think be here 20 days to get one.....then you can track your progress. I'm doing a Daily Weigh In for May. I think that's helping me! Good Luck!
