Default When An Injury Sets You Back

I was biking at the gym and when I got off I could barely walk on one foot. The ball of the foot is very tender and I can't really walk. I don't know what I did - it's not swollen and I can wiggle the toes, so nothing is broken.

It's getting better, but very, very slowly.

It's pissing me the **** off. I finally got into a regular workout routine and was lifting/cardio three days a week and cardio on the Wii the other two days. I can't do that now. I can barely climb up or down steps.

This is all culminating with the end of semester crazy, including parties and buffets and all that crap. We had a faculty dinner the other night and I got salmon. It came with fries (which are my biggest weakness.) I split the fries in half and didn't even finish the half. No dessert. No soda. I was the only one not drinking.

Anyway, I'm grouchy. I'm mad at my body for flaking out on me JUST when I am finally in a groove.

How have y'all dealt with this? dawn

Yes, I have dealt with an injury. It is so frustrating when you can't work out the way you like. If your injury doesn't feel better soon - get it checked out by your doctor. I have a foot/ankle injury. I do upper body things - chair dancing (upper body part), stretches, arm weights, sitting exercises, etc.

Life is full of so many tempations - it's good to go to these things with a strategy. For me its - check it all out, decide what works for my plan, one plate only (no seconds), slow eating, and focus on the people not the food.

Hope you feel better soon!

I know how you feel. I broke my tail bone and that really set me back. Even just sitting down was agony never mind exercising.
The only thing I can suggest is rely on calorie intake solely till your foot gets better.
