Amazon has wish lists and you can register on amazon.com as well.

I've never heard of a website having layaway, but Kmart and Burlington have layaway in the stores.

Garage sale season is starting too. Two things I would be somewhat hesitant to buy at garage sales are car seats and cribs (because it's hard to check if there have been recalls, at least before you buy). But for most baby stuff, garage sales are awesome.

Default craigslist

You can try craigslist, they have a lot of used baby items, I bought a beautiful crib from craigslist for a cheap amount and I am really happy with it.

Almost every store has a "wish list" feature, they call it a baby registry. LOL

I don't know about layaway, that seems to be a dying animal.

Kmart does have layaway online but only certain items can be put on layaway. Ebay is really good on a budget too. You can get gently used or brand new clothes very cheap. Just keep an eye on the shipping price.. sometimes it catches me by surprise. Hope this helps and congrats!
