Yes, I have this problem too. I was pre-diabetic, then ended up with hypoglycemia and sugar-dipping after changing my diet and doing more exercise each day and week. I am doing pretty much the same as SUSANB is ... eating more protein snacks; matching that up with whole grain carb, esp in the evening.
Some eat 4-6 smaller meals each day, but I am eating 3 meals plus 2-3 snacks if I am hungry. I try to balance my lunch or dinners -- protein, veggies and/or salads, plus grains/starches equally, if I can.
I have fruit for my snack in the morining; usually nuts and/or yogurt with some kind of fiber (like fiber one cereal or granola) in the afternoon; and nuts or cheese & whole grain soda crackers in the evening. I watch my sugar but have increased my good fats lately and that seems to be helping somewhat also ...
