Default 300+ And Getting Fit after 40 #261

This group is for those dealing with the challenges of being fit when you have a significant amount of weight to lose which becomes harder after age 40. If you're an old or new friend and not over 40 and feel this is the place to post, jump right in.

Hello?? Hello?? Is this thing working?? Where are all my lovely ladies??? Let's hear from you- - whether you're doing well or struggling!

I'm both of those! Foodwise and weightwise, I'm fighting every day. Not always doing so well. But I'm excited about a lot of things going on -- especially in the garden these days. Work is slamming me, though. Too much to do and never enough time...

I have been struggling lots lately. I was doing great for months and months, then started slipping. First it was just having a bit extra of OP foods .. then little bits of junk here and there. Then I have times when I don't eat.

Somehow I've managed to maintain (thankfully).

I am back to checking in here and hoping this helps get me motivated again and back on track.

One thing I always seem to have trouble with is making myself exercise. Any good ideas to help get moving?

Had a horrible food day yesterday - today has been back OP - not sure what I fell over. I'm sick of being this weight and need to figure it out.

Christina -- Lots of us are having fun setting exercise goals (minutes/month) in the exercise thread. Maybe that would help??

Carol-- I hope you can STAY OP. I'm with you. I'm up to 210 and it seems to keep creeping up!!

Hi Gals!

Fun, busy weekend. Food was not great, was fairly active. My foot is feeling much better. Not sure I mentioned hurting it last week. I hope to get more gym time and biking in this week.

We've now thrown tee-ball into the mix on Mondays so my gym time is gone. I did get a 45 min cardio workout during my lunch break.

I'm having horrible issues with my skin these days. It appears to be eczema, but my docs can't seem to come up with anything to help. I just finished a round of steroids and in less than a week it flared back up again. Anyone else deal with itchy, icky skin issues? It affects my scalp too.

Getting late, gotta run for now.

Catch you more later!

IM here and doing good. If it would just stop raining. Im tired from not sleeping at night due to storms. I was able to get the yard mowed last night before rain came in.
I am proud to report a few tiny tomatoes on our plants and a few blooms also. At this rate with all the rain it maybe weeks before I get any thing else out there.

I was on track with food and exercise everyday but 2 in the month of april. I also lost 4.5lbs for the month. So far this month has been OP also. I know stringing pop days together is the key...not to let weekends derail me.

Was off in Ohio to give my aunts some relief for a couple of days. Back home now. Summer's going to be a lot of back and forth.

My goal for the rest of this week is to eat at least one OP meal each day and exercise at least 15 minutes each day.

Angela - good for you! Wish I wasn't so black and white. I'm trying hard to learn gray. How is your mom?

Looking forward to adding another POP day to my string - fingers crossed/plan in place.

Hello Ladies!

Stop beating yourself up GGG, that's my job! hehehe. I went on a Skittles binge on Sunday (all of one 4 oz bag). Man, did it make me ill. I won't do that again for a while. Just made me nauseous after not doing much refined sugar for so long.

Hugs to all who are so busy they can't see straight!

Ratkity

Calories are good today even with some poor lunch choices. I pulled out the rest of the day instead of throwing it out the window. Good workout tonight.

Rat - thanks for the kick in the seat - it's been really hard to kick myself - not quite that flexible. Feeling much better three days later.
