Talking Bride to Be

Hi, I'm Rynda, a new user. I want to lose 30 pounds between now and my wedding day so I will look fabulous in my wedding dress. Now for the hard part, I've got 4 months to do it! I've done Atkins, South Beach, and a host of other "diets". Now I just want to do sensible and portion control, cause I love bread, sometimes want sherbert (raspberry) and enjoy the ocassional glass of wine. I see no reason to stop eating or enjoying my food, what I need is an easy way to gauge portions. Any ideas?
Thanks a lot.

Hi Rynda and welcome to the board!

30 lbs. in 4 months is an ambitious goal, but it can be done with enough hard work and dedication! I think you have the right mind set for this- no more complicated diets with unbreakable rules, just simply eat less and move more! Start cutting your portions back and trying to get in a lot more water, fruits, veggies and lean protiens. Add exercise to this plan and you'll start seeing the pounds drop in no time! Good luck, we're happy to have you here!!! :-)

Hi Rynda, i want to first congratulate you on getting married. i say you should exercise at least 4 times a week, (running), and drink plenty of water. i am sure you can reach your goal if you show the determination. also, since you asked for advice, i take this powder that is really helping me lose weight at the moment, and i am very satisfied.

Hello Rynda, congratulations on getting married. I've also got my wedding coming up (July) although luckily I only want to lose 5-7 lbs for the day. I have lost 21 lbs so far and what I found really useful was running, walking more, cutting down on alcohol, giving up second helpings and eating fewer puddings, and not eating carbs in the evening (plenty the rest of the day). Remember even if you do not quite lose the whole 30 pounds, you will feel much better for the amount you do lose - and healthier. Good luck!

Thanks for all the advance. Yeah, alcohol is the one thing I know I've got to cut out, it increases my appetite, and I'm of those people who loves to match up a good glass of wine with dinner. So I'll just switch to mineral water, Perrier is good with a little lemon. I am just determined to look amazing in my wedding dress, and afterwards my new hubby and I are going to get into a regular exercise program.

I would recommend calorie counting and tracking your food... I like Fitday but I know a lot of people on 3FC use other sites like Daily Plate. It would help if you are trying to eat sensible, still allowing treats, and tracking portions.

PS. Congrats!
