Default Dr. visit today

Something happened today that I did not believe would ever happen.

I saw my doctor today for a routine visit. The last time I saw him I got upset because he did not have the reaction I expected. Today was much better. He was very pleased with my weight loss and all my numbers, good blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and just everything.

He said that, to him, my weight is not an issue any longer. I am healthy. When I discussed a goal weight, he did say that he would like to see me lose about 40 more pounds but that he would not give me a hard time about it.

I did not think that the day would come where my doctor would not tell me that I have to lose weight!

Of course, I am continuing on this journey anyway!

Feels pretty darn SPECTACULAR, doesn't it??

It's such a wonderful feeling to know that we're doing all that we can on our part to keep us healthy. Makes for lots less worries.

Keep up the great work and watch what he says next year. Whoa!

I love doctor-related NSVs (although since it's dealing with weight, it's sort of an NSV, but kinda not). I think the health issues are so much more important than the weight on the scale. It's been quite a change in my thinking... after agonizing over every move of the scale up and down forever, I find myself focusing much more on my BG numbers, my carbs and calories, my exercise... and the weight loss that comes is good, but not the primary issue anymore. It makes a strange head-space difference. Still trying to get my mind around it.
