The Ip diet works. It is difficult the first week. I am in my second week. I have lost 10 pounds. You can do this. I would say that with your unfortunate health issues you have great motivating factors. Just think before next time this year you will be a whole new... just less.. Good luck and please keep posting and asking for support... It works!
I'm sorry to hear about your health complications, but CONGRADULATIONS for taking the first step towards becoming a healthier, happier you! Most diet/exercise plans will work beautifully, as long as we stick to them. Good luck and we're happy to have you here!!
I look forward to seeing you on the Ideal Protein threads! We are under the carb counters diet heading, other reduced carb diets (next to the atkins link). We have alot of really great support and recipes so, come on over!
I started Ideal Protein (IP) November 20, 2010. I had lost 15 pounds on another program before this but it took 2.5 months. Since starting Ideal Protein I have lost 70 pounds and 83 inches. I have gone from a small size 20 to getting into size 10 skirts AND zipping them comfortably! I no longer have GERD, body aches and pains, fatigue, "brain fog", and my hypothyroid issues are reversing.
Be patient and follow the protocol. It really is a treatment and not a diet. You will see alot of changes in your health. On this program change can happen as fast as 10 days so be prepared to feel alot better soon! Also be patient because the PCOS and Insulin Resistance can be a bit more of a challenge. Make sure you get in a REALLY good OMEGA 3/6/9 (I like Barleans or Udos oils or Country life with the mercury free fish oils). GET PLENTY of oil. People with insulin resistance lose more efficiently with a very low carb level and a diet at least 30% fat. Drink your water to keep your ketones flushed. I assume you will be on the alternate phase 1 plan for diabetics so, you may want to check out the Alternate IP threads too!
Good Luck,
Carla

so to all of you starting tomorrow, good luck. i have several friends doing this and they lost weight quickly and are off all meds for blood pres. etc now.
I know you will all do great on this program..
