Hey! I'm new!

  • Hey guys! How is everyone? I've been searching forever for a forum like this, where I could communicate with people who know exactly what I'm going through I'm so glad I've found this.

Weight for me has always been an issue. It goes up and down and up and down, and round and round again and again I'm what many would call a yo-yo dieter. But something made me want to change that. It was around the beginning of march, I decided to step on the scale finally and what I saw scared me. 260 lbs. I'm a short person, so I imagined myself looking like a butterball walking down the street. And then I thought about how hard it had become for me to do simple things like walking up a flight of stairs or getting up out of my seat without struggling, even walking left me out of breath so I knew it was time to finally do something and not just with short term intentions but something long term and lasting. I immediately cut of the daily snacks and candies I usually ate and I stopped ordering takeout or going for fast food. I began cooking healthier and filling my diet with fruits and vegetables and fish. Also I began a light daily 30 minute workout. I immediately noticed a change and in 2 weeks I was down to 247 lbs. That was all the motivation that I needed to join a gym and continue my journey. So far I have lost 34 lbs and I plan to keep going down. Victory seems so far away but I will definitely be winning the war this time around
  • Hii, Well Done Keep It UP. i Weighed about the same as you but i'm 4inches taller so i don't luck it much, but i still know how much i weigh. 34lbs is a great start. Good Luck xx
  • :-) Thanks Ms. Daisy. Good luck to you as well
  • Thank you : ). What's keepin you motivated? Xx
  • You're welcome!

I think what is really keeping me motivated is how my body feels. I move better, breath better, look better. And I feel my stress levels have went down. And it doesn't hurt that I went shopping and was actually able to fit into outfits that I looked good in lol
  • Lol I know. I find exercise easier when the weathers nice, the last few days have been nice in the uk so I've been exercising more. I've been helping my mom with the garden and playing football with my family.lol I use to go to the gym when I was 16 but founf it hard getting to and from it. So I cancelled. I use my nintendo wii for my main source of exercise these days. What's you goal weight? Xx
  • lol I understand that. Its a hassle for me to get on the bus to get there and then come all the back home.

How do you like the Wii?

My goal right now is 170 but my longterm is 150

    What about you
  • The wii is really good, I find it easier to exercise when no ones around. I want to get to 240lbs in the next 4weeks so I can fit on a theme park ride. And my long term is about 150 - 160 before im 18. Its unrealistic since I'm 18 in less then 5months. But I'm tryin really hard. Xx
  • I don't think anything is unrealistic if you put your mind to it. Im 19 and I want to be at my goal weight before Im 20 which is 5 months away also lol We can do it if its what we really want. What is your diet like?
  • True, Its really hard i'm sticking to healthy eatting and exercise. I Dont eat Any Other Meat Than grilled Chicken, i dont like fish either so that another down fall. i'm basically living on chicken, veg and fruit. But my family are all slim so they eat whatever they like, so theres a mix of foods in the fridge which is distracting lol. But i'm doin well so far. What about yours?
  • Hi and welcome to 3FC!

Congrats on your success and good luck with your goals

    Hugs
    Michelle
  • Hi and welcome. I am also new here. My long term goal is to lose 140 pounds and to drop several sizes. I am happy this site is here to help us stay motivated and to get the extra support. Thankfully my dh is my number one supporter since we are doing this together. Married life seemed to really pack on the pounds. Hope to see you around.
