Default Keeping armband clean/smelling good? GWF and BB

Hey all- I've been using my gowearfit since January and I LOVE IT first of all.

My problem is obviously I'm wearing this thing all the time and it's STINKY! I was washing my old band and leaving it out to dry but then the velcro got damaged. So when I went to get a replacement band (OMG $11 shipping?!) I decided to buy two.

I've got my new bands and I switch bands- one to workout- the other the rest of the time.

Obviously I'm going to have to clean my other band- and I can't seem to find much on how to keep it smell free and clean- so what do you do? I think I was doing something wrong since the velcro was ruined so quickly (I only got about 3 months use out of the first band- is that normal?).

Thanks!

I guess no one else has this problem or we are all buying tons of armbands...

BTW I just wash mine with handsoap and then leave it to dry- anyone do anything different?

I don't have an armband, but I have this problem with my headband. I've found that using anti bacterial soap made a bit of difference. I've also used bleach (colour safe) as well. Just the tiniest little bit. Hopefully that helps.

Mine started looking frazzled after only a month of wearing it. I'm on month 2 and now the band had a permanent crease on one side from it being bent over while I sleep. I'm too afraid that if I really wash it that it'll just fall apart completely. I want to get at least 3 months use out of it, so all I do to mine is febreeze it.

Yeah these bands are poorly designed IMO for the amount of use that goes into them... I wish they would last longer- and it's insane they charged me $11 to ship them- that's the only reason I bought 2! I bet shipping costs them no more than $3.

Where did you order the band from?

I need a new band. I got mine used from and it smelled when I got it. I soaked it in vinegar and soap, but I still don't like it....it is very used!

I went to 24HourFitness.com to order and it said $5 shipping, but the item was $13.99, which I thought was a bit high. I haven't ordered yet but want to.

I have a gowearfit and ordered it directly from the site- bodymedia.com

I'm considering making my own lol- I mean all I have to do technically is cut off the old band part and attach a new one to the plastic adapter...
