neon -- I agree, it's personal. What I count has changed over time. When I was just getting started, I would count walking my dogs around the block for 10 min as exercise, even though I didn't get my heartrate up. But counting it motivated me to move. Now I don't count usually count it, unless I keep my hr up -- which means jogging in place while they do their business.
I do count some of my yardwork as exercise, because I am active, and sweating and it motivates me to do more of it. But I might count only some of the time I'm working, if not all of it is hard work. I think if it were part of something I had to do I might not. For instance, I don't tend to count housework, but maybe I would if making it "exercise" would make me work at it harder...
S0 we leave it up to the individual to determine what's exercise for them. We just want you to be moving and count it with us!!
