Default Dehydrated??

This morning at my weight in, my counselor had me step on a scale that claimed that I was dehydrated... how could a step-on scale tell me this information?

and how could I be dehydrated if I drink at the very least 96oz (12 cups) of water a day? I am thinking because my weigh in is first thing in the morning and I hadn't had any water yet?

there is some sort of electrical signal that goes through your feet if you are standing barefoot on the metal plate (lots of home scales now have this feature along with a fat percentage monitor). If you had on shoes or even just socks, then I doubt it was very accurate. I'm not sure how accurate it is, even in barefeet, mine is always with .1 or .2 of the same percent for water, no matter how much I've had to drink.

Personally, I'd say that if you are peeing every couple of hours and it's not too dark, you are hydrated.

I'm pretty sure that's the reasoning. Did you tell him you hadn't had anything to drink since the night before?

I'm guessing it was one of those fat calculating scales- those send an impulse through you to determine how much fat you have in your body- those scales can be wrong since if you drink a lot of water before stepping on them they can show a higher fat percentage- in other words I don't think they are very reliable.

I wouldn't give what he said too much stock. If you weren't even feeling thirsty you were fine.

Thanks! That is very interesting. I was barefoot... I had no idea scales could do that, and my fat percentage was SCARY.

Yeah, I didn't drink anything since the night before, so for almost 12 hours. I guess I won't let it bother me then, I pee a lot, and it's always clear.
