Default 300+ And Getting Fit After Forty #255

This group is for those dealing with the challenges of being fit when you have a significant amount of weight to lose which becomes harder after age 40. If you're an old or new friend and not over 40 and feel this is the place to post, jump right in.

Good morning!!

We had a nice weekend away, and I'm back, ready to be perfectly on plan!!

It's spring break week, which means I still have to work, but not as much as a normal week. So I'm using the breather to get on track with food and exercise. We did a TON of shopping yesterday, and now the house is filled with healthy food again.

And I'm going to the gym this morning before work.

So, I'm feeling good this morning.

I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I FINALLY got back on with my old user name, in spite of the conspiracy and all efforts by Yahoo, my internet service (HA!) provider, my security program and all the bad mojo in the universe - I'm BACK! I'm NO LIFE again! Oh it's good to be here and finally feel like I'm myself again! Starting over with a new ID just made me feel like all the effort, success and friends made in the past had just been lost.

Good to read you all again folks! It sounds like everyone is having some serious challanges, from ill loved ones on down the list. But it also looks like everyone is facing the hard parts of life and is here to keep trying to treat themselves better. EXcellent! That's all we can do, and it's what the people who love us want for us.

I topped out over 310 again, but have been steadily working it back down and I'm at 296 again. Progress is what I'm looking for, working for actually, so that one day I'll just wake up and be a little tyke like Heather. Heck, I'm even exercising fairly regularly.

Have a super Tuesday, everyone!!
(Golly, it's good to be really back!)

Val == Good to have your old self back!
As for my "little tyke" status, I'm trying to be able to maintain it!! I have gained back 35 pounds myself!!

But today was a good day, so I'll go with that!

I had a POP day yesterday...this will be a POP week. I cooked a turkey breast to help with my lunch issues. If nothing else I can make a sandwich and eat veggies sticks with it.

Things going great here - just seem on the quiet side. I am serving on a Federal jury this week - stepping outside my normal plan - one day down and did great - a big step.

YAY for both Debbie and Carol!!!

I will be working from home today -- lots of reading to do. I have to plan dinner, but have an idea. I also plan to exercise at home today.

Debbie --

I had a good day, but not as much moving as I would have liked. I did like that I made a tasty and healthy dinner all with food I had in the house.

I don't know about today yet, though.

POP day for me yesterday also. I'm stiff from sitting in the jury box chairs! Thankfully they provide water and pop - so I'm drinking a 20 ounce bottle during each 1.5-2 hour session - about what I would at the office. BUT I'm not moving - today I have my tennis shoes on and will walk one of the floors for exercise - they won't let you walk the steps for exercise.

Anybody hear the news story about women over 40 needing one hour of exercise daily to maintain their weight? We gotta move it!

Heather- I have declared a eat whats in the house weekend. I need to use up some veggies and stuff before I restock.
Carol- I got lots of exercise yesterday working in my flowerbeds. Its so nice to have them clean and find things coming up already. Spring is really here!
We are really enjoying that turkey breast I cooked. It makes for great lunches and easy dinners just add veggies.

Debbie - great job on the turkey breast and staying away from processed. It's so easy to grab the easy thing - planning is the key.

It's a eat at home weekend here too. We have a birthday party for DH's grandson on Saturday - no cake for me probably.

I've started thinking I'm hungry after dinner and my snack. I don't think it's real hunger and am trying to deal with it - last night I had some calories left so had 30 g of walnuts - seemed to take care of it quickly. Would be a shame to start having to go to bed at 7 - lol.

Judy - can't wait to hear about you WI tonight.

Terri - HI neighbor!

Barb - how are things in your world? Miss ya.

Heather - sounds like a bit of the stress is gone - true? I'm so ready for spring!

Hugs to all............

Have you ever been to a churrasscaria? It's a Brazilian restaurant where waiters bring by skewer after skewer of meat for you to eat. Yeah, that's where we ended up last night. I did not stay on plan and did not make the best choices.

But I'm back on track today!!
