How in the heck am i supposed to stay focused with girl scout cookies being sold at every grocery store! LOL ahhhhh..it doesn't make it any better that i bought 2 boxes from someone at work and now i'm just looking at them cursing them because i just hadddddd to open the thin mints!! LOL Now i have to give these boxes away because i can sit and eat an entire sleeve of the thin mints like its nothing!

My husband and I recently avoided one Walmart entirely because of Girl Scouts at the front of the store with their evil little cookies. We get a double whammy around here...Girl Scouts selling cookies AND Camp Fire Girls with candy...

Freeze them!

I find that I eat less of them if they're frozen, and they still taste awesome. You just may be able to limit yourself to 1 or 2 if they're cold?

I treat myself to one Somoa every other day...heck - gotta have me some girls scout cookies!

LMAO!!!! Wow..now I can walk past them and say no. I just have a soft spot for people close to me with girls selling them because i use to be a girl scout!

ughhh i just picked up the boxes i bought from my friend's niece! i totally have to give them away .. or limit myself. fail! lol

As a former Girl Scout, I mostly get annoyed by the cookies because GSUSA doesn't give nearly enough money to the troops for the work they do in selling and promoting the cookies. I don't remember the exact percentage that the troops get, but it's something ridiculous. I try to donate directly to my local GS alumni chapter instead of buying the cookies. When they're hard to resist in the store, I will buy a box and pass it off to a friend or coworker with a high metabolism, haha.

I vote you either toss them or give them to someone (friend/neighbor/coworker). I wouldn't be able to resist. Fortunately they weren't too bad about it at work this year and I'm good at avoiding people selling things at store fronts.

Don't feel bad... not many of us could limit ourselves...

Oh my god, I find the thin mints utterly irresistable. That's why they are never ever allowed in my house again. Not as long as I live alone, anyway. Don't like any of their other cookies, but the thin mints... are... divine.

I found some homemade knockoffs a while back that are pretty delicious too, almost as good, and the advantage is that you can make a tiny batch and cut back on the preservatives, if you're baking inclined like I am. I can't post the recipe though, with too few posts. I will when I can, though!

Where I live, we had an option to purchase Girl Scout cookies and donate them to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. I was able to support GS but had no temptation to deal with.

I'm giving them away..Already have them in the bag and ready to go! There is nooooo way I can keep these things around!

Luckily I don't like Girl Scout Cookies. It is still hard to say no to a 6 year old girl though. They are everywhere too! I have tried giving them donations instead of buying cookies, and they said they cannot take donations! I have only ever liked the Somoas, but I haven't had sugar in about a month, and I am not about the break that streak for a Girl Scout Cookie.

I second the idea to have them donate the cookies. Most Girl Scouts have a program to do so, and the cookies end up in good hands, they get your money, and the cookies stay out of your house!
