I'm 26 and I'm 226 (as of Monday YAY weight watchers) I dropped 5lbs in a week and I'm loving it. I'd love to get down to 185-175 maybe...right now my goal is just to get out of the 200's. How many of you ladies are in the 200's and what are you doing to get out of it? Those of you that left the 200's behind...how long did it take? And how hard is it to keep it off? I'm so scared that once I get down its going to be hard keeping it off.
Hi! I'm in the 200's - 265lbs to be precise after dropping 9.5lbs this week (it's my first week though) - I'm aiming to be about 150lbs but am taking it 7lbs-14lbs at a time
Howdy. I am still in the 200's, but hoping for Onederland by July 4. I started 2 1/2 weeks ago at 243, am now at 231 and have my weigh ins every Sunday. They (not sure who *they* are or why *they matter ) say that 2 pounds a week is what to expect, so I figured it out and on my July 4 weigh in, I should be 199 pounds. If it happens sooner, then it's a bonus!
I ride my bicycle a couple of mile-ish every day if the weather is good, and if not, then I at least walk around the block once or twice, depending on my bulging disc. I typically take thursday off to let my body have a rest. I eat between 1400-1800 cal and no more than 60 g fat , usually more like 40-45 g a day. No junk food. Fruits and veg, good carbs and smaller portions of leaner protein. Fruit or pretzels if I have to have a snack. I have fallen in love with walmart's store brand of honey wheat pretzel twists. 10 pretzels for 110 cal and no fat. Also, yahoo freezer pops 20 cal each and no fat. And I found a choclate mug pie thingy to die for at hungrygirl.com. It has 233 cal and 5 g fat, but is still well within my allowances on the few days I really gotta have something decadently chocolate, like once a week-ish.
I started right around where you are (221) and we're almost the same height. I wasn't uber serious about losing weight back when I started. Although I do recall the 200s went pretty quickly. I want to say 2-3 months max. Trust me, once you leave the 200s, you'll never want to go back so I doubt you'll jump back into them.
I started last March, exactly one year ago, at 210. Did weight watchers until around October, got down to 185ish, and got STUCK. Massive plateau. So, I joined the gym. Found a trainer. And now, a year later, I'm hovering around 150.
I figured, it took me 6 months to lose 30 lbs each time. 5 pounds a month. Doesn't sound like a lot to people, but it DOES add up.
I am 5'9", 43 years old, and the mother to 5. If I can do it, anyone can.
225 was my high in 2008 (or at least it was when I decided to start to lose weight). At 185 now...just used exercise and diet - even had a pregnancy (went back up to 225 and back down again)
I started in June 2008 at 265lbs...and it took me exsactly 6 months to get below 200! Since then it has been slow, but I am finally figuring out what to do.
I started November 9th and just recently hit one-derland. I have done so through the often advised diet and exercise. It seems true that weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise.
I calorie count and exercise to get where I am going. You can do this! Each pound lost is a victory to celebrate!
My start weight is questionable because of my 3782 false starts, but let's say it was something around 218 and I lost 37 lbs mostly from late April last year until Nov. It's not hard to keep off, I've been maintaining for over 3 months now
I'm om WW as well. Don't be worried that my stall will happen to you as well - I had an operation AND a back injury to deal with in those 3 months.
I'm not out of the 180's yet, my goal is around 150.
It took me about 6-7 months to get out of the 200's. I started around 230 in July of 08 and was in the 190's by the end of the year/January. I wil be honest, at first when I started losing weight I did not really concentrate on foods (except for my food allergy foods) and just concentrated on eating out less. When my weight stopped decreasing I started paying more attention to nutrition. I lost about 30 pounds and have been maintaining for-ev-er around 170 but finally got serious and cut out more of the stuff that was causing me to plateua. Now I am finally losing again but it took me a while plus some exercise Once you get downt to about 190 most likely you will never want to be in the 200s again believe me I can't imagine how I maintained 230 for so long!
I started at 220lbs on January 4 and broke the 200 mark on February 22 weighing in at 198lbs. So, it took me about 7 weeks to get out of the 200's. This past Monday on March 8 after a not so OP weekend and a visit from TOM, I weighed in at 195lbs. I'm hoping next Monday shows a lower number.
I got out of the 200's by calorie counting, eating between 1200-1400 calories/day of clean/healthy foods, exercising at least 5 days a week (mostly cardio up until a couple of weeks ago) and drinking a lot of water.
