Default Dinner Question What do you eat at night?

Though this might mostly apply for the ones with a gastric sleeve please do feel to add your opinion.

Ok I had been with the gastric sleeve for four months now and I have a problem eating dinner. Even though I I eat without trouble in the morning and for lunch in the evening eating causes me discomfort, I feel like I have eaten rocks for dinner. I can't eat any bread (even toast) after 7, pasta cannot be digested and meat and eggs are like rocks. So I rarely dare to touch lunch's leftovers.

Anyways I was wondering what do you eat at night? Do you have a few suggestions for a really light meal for the evening, which does not require a lot of preparation. Lately I am either eating soups or cereal at night and I am kind of getting bored.

Are you eating only lunch's leftovers for dinner? Or are you cooking up fresh dinner?

stefani I usually eat, for dinner, something which is really easy to made because I work in the afternoon and by the time I'm home in the evening I am too exhausted to even consider cooking something that will take long.

So it's either something prepared in 10-20 minutes nowadays, or cup-o-soup soups, or cereal or leftovers from lunch warmed up.

oh honey. i'm having the same issues!!!! the 'good' protein doesn't sit well. and even though i can eat some high protein pasta, i try not to do that. cheese and crackers work well for me, but that's not really the way to do things.

sometimes veggies work OK for me. but i gotta figure out the protein. maybe i'll roast a batch of veggies and mix in some chick peas. THAT should stay down. i hope.

How about some fat free refried beans with a little cheese on top? heated in the micro
or worst case scenario a protein shake?

(You'll have to excuse me changing my accounts - unfortunately I can't retrieve one of my passwords so I've two accounts on two different computers).

The reason I ask is because over the years I've talked to many people who cannot tolerate leftover foods. Food that has been sitting a while in it's juices etc often changes density and reacts differently than fresh foods for many sleeves and pouches. I had a lady in my support group who found out that whenever she ate something not fresh she could not tolerate it and was either nauseous or sick. That could be something to consider as what is causing your reaction. That's why I was looking for clarification -- if everything makes you ill in the evening or is it just when you reheat something made previously

Hey ladies thank you for the help so far. Just to comment on Stephani's question once more most kinds of food seem horrible to me at dinner whether freshly cooked or not. Luckily I have discovered recently that I can eat fish at night without trouble and warm halloumi or feta cheese, so I might think of something to eat.

Jiffy btw I can't digest pasta anymore. If I eat it, after eight hours I feel nauseous and it gets out looking the same way it got in. So I stopped eating pasta except a homemade macaroni my grandma takes when she has the time.
