Default Hoping the snowstorm passes the DC area by

We just have had about as much snow as we could handle this year I think. Hoping the snow stays well to the north of us. Or if we do get snow, I hope it's only a couple of inches instead of a couple of feet.

P.S. My husband is still reading the Gary Taubes book "Good calories, Bad Calories." He is maybe about 1/4 or 1/3 of the way in and is just disgusted at the lack of proper science. He is appalled that hypothoses were formed and then stuck with despite contrary evidence, and is horrified that many studies, major studies, were not published but instead buried, because they contradicted the current low-fat is good dogma.

As a scientist who has published numerous articles and conducted many experiments himself, he knows that is just plain old bad science. Or rather, not science at all.

I live in Rochester NY and we're supposed to get 10 inches by Friday morning. I am praying that Friday classes are cancelled. And my teacher's cars all stall in the snow or something hehe.

Hey Lori....I was thinking about buying this book as all of you have said its great in explaining things. So, I'm confused a little bit....does your husband not agree with the book or is it the low-fat way that he is disgusted about? thanks!

Stay safe, everyone who is in the snow zone! Hoping everyone will stay safe and warm and hoping this will be the last major snowstorm of this winter.

Hope we don't get too much either.. all day it rained really hard and driving was horrible! I think all the rain was washing some of the "old" snow away.. floods everywhere! Tonight the "flakes" are supposed to come down, glad I'm stocked up again!

Went shopping yesterday and today, yesterday I bought 10 packages of pork rinds and 4 cartons of eggs from this one store because of their prices and some people looked in my cart and gave me the strangest looks, LOL! I just smiled and didn't say a word..

Friday morning and there's a foot of snow on the ground. Supposed to snow all day today....snow warning in effect until 6am tomorrow morning (been snowing here since Wed nite). They are predicting another foot here today. Work called me at 7am and said "We're closed"

Oh, my goodness. What a storm. I have heard many are without power in the northeast. I hope everyone here will have power and stay safe.

I am supposed to pick up my new car in northern New Jersey. It doesn't look too good theres. In fact it's not too great either. Snowing and heavy winds in SW Jersey.

Keep warm and safe everyone.

Sharon
