Default summer clothing to cover up massive loose skin

So I've been thinking about summer lately. For the past 2 years I've worn mostly prairie skirts because I can't wear my "winter/fall" skirts without tights to cover up my knees/thighs (hanging shelves on the inside that hang over the next shelves + elephant wrinkles hanging over knee etc). So I was thinking maybe I could get a pair of biker shorts that hit approx 1 inch above the knee in a buff color so that maybe this year I could wear something besides 7 days a week of praririe skirts. But I can't seem to find such a thing. Any leads?

I can find them in 4 or so inches above the knee but this isn't long enough.

I'm starting to consider having to make my own "bloomers/pettipants"

Also what's your favorite summer top to cover under arm hang? (I can wrap mine halfway around my arm!)

As far as shorts go, I wear Bermudas, they don't show so much and are still shorts . I never wear sleeveless tops of any kind . That pretty much takes care of arm flab.

ah, I mean shorts that are made to wear under skirts as I don't wear trousers. I think the bermuda style shorts might be too bulky under skirts

Spanx makes a girdle type short in nude. Not best for comfort though. I always wear sleeves too. Short to 3/4 length.

I wear bike type shorts under my skirts in the summer to prevent the dreaded thigh rub, but all my skirts are ankle length or longer so length doesn't matter.
Have you considered Skorts? I have seen just below the knee length ones which might help your issue.

I usually don't wear any shorts shorter than short sleeves, but this winter I have been wearing a lot of sleeveless dresses, (Including one strapless LBD) and I must say I have been looking better, so I don't have much to add on that front.

Good luck finding a solution for your style.

I'm not sure it's a style, it's more of a modesty thing. Not only do I have hanging flaps of skin and wrinkles but I also was in a car accident and my thighs are crisscrossed with scars. For some reason people think they have the "right" to comment on my scars if they are visible so I have to have a "modesty plan" for things like sitting, bike riding, and any circumstance a skirt might go more than 1 inch above my knees.

So...are we actually talking about underwear ? If I wear a skirt I just wear my ordinary underwear unless it is sheer than I will wear a half slip, as well. I believe you can still find pettipants. To me shorts are outer wear . I don't think I have ever seen anyone wearing shorts under a skirt. Have you thought about capris, the cover most , but not all , of your leg.

Default hmmm...

I think the body contouring type things have underthings that could pass that will go that length for you. Like those contouring types....that might help. I haven't lost enough to worry about that yet, still worrying about the fat

I sometimes wear like spandex shorts under skirts, just in case it should fly up and to keep my thighs more comfortable. They are volleyball shorts, technically, but are cotton and comfortable and come in different lengths. They might work.

I think for length you'll have better luck with body shapers than real bike shorts, and they'll be lighter and more comfortable too.

Pettipants are definitely a statement, but a neat one IMO if you're up for it!

Fashion should serve you, you should not be bound to serve fashion.

How about something like this:

If that won't work for you, I know a seamstress in Chicago who worked with a concert violinist who'd been through a horrible accident. She revised her entire wardrobe--creating some pairs of custom "bloomers" would be right up her alley, she specializes in historical clothing (not costumes, real clothes).

(she is no relation to me, I'm just impressed with her work, and am a past customer--she made my husband's graduation robe)

I would check out the exercise wear sections of places like Target. I am covering up colorful spider veins. These tend to be lighter than a bike short thing. More like leggings. You can cut them shorter and have them hemmed. Light cotton that clings to you- right? Good luck and congrats on your weight loss journey. Another thing that helped me on my arms where I have a "oh my gosh" inducing scar from shoulder to elbow on one- has been to really work out with weights. The muscle makes a big diff. I don't go sleeveless in a biz situation, but I can wear it out gardening or to the market and feel good.

If you go to the "underwear" section of stores like Target, Lane Bryant, Walmart, any department store they sell the bottom "underwear" that look like biker shorts meant to SUCK you in and they come in white black and nude colors!

I never go sleeveless so I can't help with that one. I'm curious about what to wear to hide my thighs as well.
