Smile Hello, my name is Terry, and I'm overweight.

Hi all,

I'm Terry and have lurked on this website for months now. I just finished reading the [I]3 Fath Chicks on a Diet[I]book and loved it. I tend to eat when I'm bored or happy ( I know go figure most people eat when they are depressed). I'm dedicated to loosing weight this time. My husband and I have even joined a gym. It's nice to finally find a website full of support as this one is.

Terry

Hi Selena,

Thanks! I just got married December 20th. I wish you well with your wedding planning. I know it was very stressfull for me. I believe that I was the only bride who actually gained weight. LOL

Welcome Terry,

I can empathize about the bored eating, that was definately me. While some folks still make a big production about food (especially those that are great healthy cooks), personally I've been working on deprioritizing food in my life. Now I try to view it like stopping at a gas station for fuel, something I need to do, I'll put good fuel in, and move on. This has helped with making food less of an "event" in my life which led to me overeating a lot.

I can't tell you how many times I'd just be sitting around and the next "highlight" of my day, hours away, would be some meal or food related thing.

Stick around and post

Talking Thank You Thank You

Thank you all. I've done Weight Watchers before and actually lost weight. But I can truly say that I've never had support like is on here. It's crazy. I do have one question though. What do you think about the Mediterranean Diet? or the Flat Belly Diet?

Wink I know the feeling

I know what you're talking about. I still look around when people call me by my new name. Yep, I'm in Bama. I live about 20 miles from Gulf Shores. My father-in-law earned his doctorate at UGA.

Terry, I'm new here, too, and the quote above is the most intriguing thing I've read on the site so far! I've been fat almost my entire life, and the idea of food simply being fuel is very powerful. Thanks, randomcards!
