Talking I Will Succeed!!!

This is my first thread, but not the beginning of my diet. I began my diet on 1-2-10. (couldn't give up eating the family dishes on the 1st) I began my diet by not drinking ANY soda drinks, which resulted in 5lbs lost the first week. I have continued to be successful in this. My next step was to shop smart and cook at home as much as possible. I replaced my milk with skim organic milk (it taste as rich as whole regular milk), I use ground turkey meat instead of beef, and buy my spices fresh when ever possible.
My breakfast is the same every morning: a 90 calorie breakfast bar and coffee with milk and sugar (I just can't drink it black). My lunch has changed but keeps one constant, a can of V8. And my supper is always different.
I have been telling myself "I will go running!" and I did once a couple of weeks ago and another with my boyfriend, who by the way has been an amazing supporter and a big factor in my success thus far, but I actually walked and yes even ran a little this evening after work. It took me about 35 min to concur a mile but I'm sure I will get faster and go further, cause I'm making a promise to you. And I will not break my promise.
As far as goals are concerned, a healthy weight for my height is 130 or so and health is my biggest concern. I have no date for it though. But my birthday is coming up in about a week and a half. I would LOVE to be at 165 by then. Then theres the all time favorite, to look good in my bathing suit this summer!!!>__<

Welcome, sounds like you have a great attitude.

A lot of people (not including me) have wonderful success with the continual small changes so that's great if you can keep going!

I would encourage you to think about tracking calories through some form (online is super easy). I think you might find it to be really eye opening and help you identify subsequent "small changes" to make.

From reading just your OP, you might be going too low on your calories, or at the very least not feeding your self enough calories before dinner to properly fuel your body. While eating 1500 calories in a day is a lot better than 3000, you want to be careful about only consuming 300 calories before dinner. This usually results in excessive hunger and the binges that follow, or going to low on your calories which is unhealthy.

Great to see your attitude, and it's excellent you've made such good progress in your first 6 weeks. Keep it up!

Good luck and hope you can accomplish your goal. Definitely try adding some type of workout and your will see result a lot faster. I am your same height and my current weight is 181 lb and also looking to go 130 lb. I am doing the 1200 calories per day and working out 4 days a week plus I walk about 6 blocks once a week to Stop & Shop to get a salad for lunch.
