I do not currently have diabetes but they did a blood test to see how well I handle glucose as a predabetes screen. Due to the fact that many family members have diabetes even if this comes out fine I will have to get rechecked every 2 years. But for now all is well.
Sounds like really good news to me! Hope you're feeling better all around.
And maybe it's one of those "blessings in disguise", a red flag run up to give you another reason to eat healthy. I've had the same reason for a while but it takes me longer to get the message than it should sometime.
I'm so glad everything turned out okay! My husband's father had diabetes and some other family members down the line did as well. My husband has been occasionally checked for diabetes, but not every two years. I will tell him to make an appointment for a physical ASAP!
I've been feeling a lot better, still a little tired. Sugar cravings are almost gone, hopefully I will be fully back on the wagon in the next few days.
Glad to hear that you aren't diabetic and that those nasty sugar cravings are going away. Hope this helped put things in perspective for you. A friend of my dh's was hospitalized over the weekend because of complications of a chronic disease that he has. What gets me is that he does nothing, ie lose weight, stop smoking, drink less alcohol, to try and help himself. We may never succeed in losing all the weight we want to lose but at least we are trying.
Kim, I am so glad that the diabetes test came back negative! Glad to hear the sugar cravings are vanishing as well! It may be hard, but I know you can do this! You're on your way!!!
I found out the results of my Glucose Tolerance Test yesterday...I AM NORMAL (well in that regard at least ) so my game plan is to start incorporating one healthy thing per week into my diet and just add on every week I figure in about 12 weeks I should have a pretty decent eating style. This week, I am going to eat one fruit or veggie a day (usually) don't eat any.
