For those who may not have read my previous posts, I had to stop working out for a couple of months due to a sprained hip. This is my third week resuming it. I'm sure I had regained some during the rest period, because I wasn't sticking very well to my eating plan... but whatever I regained, it left again. I found myself 5 pounds down from before the sprained hip, and I gleefully reported it here.
Now there are another 5 pounds gone. This time it really surprised me. It's been what, a week? I'm not sure--I'll check on the exact date I reported the last 5 pounds lost, and update this thread.
I go to the local Y to work out. There are two branches in this city, and I had also mentioned a 9-pound discrepancy between the scales at the two branches. Well, I also go to a clubhouse for people like me who battle depression and other mental illnesses. They've got a scale there too. I was curious and had to step on it to see which of the Y branches it agreed with.
And it agrees with the scale at the Y that is weighing lighter, while the scale at the other branch continues to show a discrepancy on the heavier side, although now it is 8 pounds. So that's two scales saying I weigh 260, and one that says 268. I'm going to assume the one that disagrees with the other two is broken.
And this is why I don't keep a scale at home. I'd be on it constantly.
Update: OK, I posted about the previous 5 pounds on the 21st. Yesterday when I discovered the next 5 pounds gone, it was the 26th. So that's 5 pounds in 5 days....
