Default Happy Hour...what to drink?

I'm going out with friends tomorrow to celebrate someone's birthday. A few of us are meeting up early at the restaurant for happy hour before dinner. Now I've already pulled the restaurant menu and looked up nutrition information to decide what to eat (unfortunately it's Italian, but I found an okay entree that is supposed to be around 600 calories, which I will eat half of and take half home...it comes with unlimited garden salad, dressing on the side of course, so that's a plus).

Anyway, what can I order at the bar that won't kill me on calories? Martini? Manhattan? Gin and tonic? I don't like sweet stuff. I'm actually quite fond of whiskey, but most bar drinks serve that with soda, and I don't want to do soda.

Honestly, I wouldn't drink at all. I find alcohol to be not only absolutely empty calories but it also tends to lessen my food inhibitions. Not only do I drink empty calories, I'm also prone to eat more of the types of foods I normally avoid, YMMV.

I would get a glass of club soda with lime. If I really felt like a drink, I'd get a glass of red wine. My "forever rules" limit my drinks to no more than 2 per night/event. One drink if I'm driving.

Believe it or not Tonic is one of the worst things you can drink - LOADED with sugar and none of the bars seem to have diet tonic. I started drinking vodka and diet coke - it's dee-lish!! The bartender told me it's called the "Skinny B*tch" - haha!

I should have specified, I'm having only one alcoholic drink (driving) and then unsweetened ice tea with lemon for the rest of the night. I'm not looking to get snockered for the fewest calories possible, haha!

I usually have a vodka soda with a lime slice or the Skinny B&tch! I didn't know it was called that! I used to have Vodka Tonics all the time, but no bars have diet tonic. I always keep it at home though.

I don't drink (maybe a glass of wine once a year?). If I was going somewhere that was a bar type setting, I do what Glory does, club soda with lime. It is 0 calories. I also do that on the plane sometimes.
