I've been back on Phase I for a week, after recommitting to SBD because of being diagnosed with PCOS by my doctor. I managed to eat really well, and eat a lot of foods that I love. I thought for sure that the scale wouldn't budge - I have a terrible fear of the scale, plus I've been exercising every day and sometimes that slows things down. However, I stepped on this morning and I was down...
Eight Pounds!!!!
That (no pun intended) is HUGE for me. I'm feeling good and excited to dive into week 2 with the same fervor. Since I have so much to lose, my doctor recommended that I stay on P1 for a month instead of just 2 weeks. But if I can keep eating like this and losing, I can't imagine I'll have much trouble.

Way to go! and I also love how much I get to eat on Phase 1.. I'm a bit afraid of Phase 2!
congrats!! my first week on SBD showed a great loss too... the downer to that (for someone IMPATIENT WITH WEIGHT LOSS like me), is that once it slows down a bit--- it can be very disappointing... i learned to ignore the scale for a week, and get it back out on a specified "weigh-in day".
i am in phase 2, but i didn't add much to my meals... so i am basically still on phase 1 after being OP for 3 weeks... i was amazed too after starting SBD at how many great things we can eat... and some of those recipes are deceiving... they may not sound good, but a lot of them are wonderful if you just give them a try!
you are doing great, keep it up!!
P.S. it looks like you and i are a lot the same as far as height, and our weight info... cool!

Good for you!!! My husband and I are in Week 3 of Phase 1.
There are many tasty ways to spice up (pun intended) Phase 1. The mashed cauliflower and roasted veggies are two of our favorites, plus yesterday, he made Roasted Chick Peas.
We have found if you keep it interesting, there is a higher degree of success.
:ya y:That's wonderful! Good for you! You can do this, I know you will reach your goal!
How have you been feeling? I'm always curious how people feel while on their way of eating. I have this theory that dieting often brings other benefits besides just the weight loss, and so I'm trying to see if my theory is right or not!

I've been feeling great. Working out a lot and just generally having more energy. A lot of things are looking up in life right now, especially at work, so the combination of all of this plus the weight loss is just sort of putting me on a high. However, I know that I can just as easily start feeling crappy and slip, so I'm having to be very careful.
Congrats on your weight loss. I also have PCOS. I'm about 300 lbs and 5'11". I was diagnosed in 2000 but started seeing symptoms (acanthosis nigricans, hair growth) when I was 8 years old.
When I first tried SBD several years ago, I ended up losing 10 lbs during the first week. I attempted to start Phase 1 today, but went to a new kabob restaurant and failed to realize that there was rice on the platter too. It looked too good not to eat LOL. So officially re-starting Phase I tomorrow.
AnnieC- *HUGS* You can do it. I am struggling too. You are not alone. Day one seems to keep happening for me. I am finally at day 2. LOL. Besides.... Kabobs should be okay if you get them plain no rice I think.
