Default pull ups :(

I can't even do one freakin pull! Man! I ordered P90X and so I bought a pull up bar in preperation and what a bummer.

But I am not too too worried I know I can work my way up. Anyone else go from none to some?

Haha, last time I could do a pull up was in 8th grade. And I mean A pull up. But I'm sure if you work on it, you will be doing them before you know it.

I read this on my exercise forum so I gave it a try. Do you have a stability ball? Try kneeling on the ball under the bar, the ball will support some of your weight while you do a pullup; I had to use my legs to stablize on the ball and help push me up, but it did work! I had my Hubby spot me the first time in case I slid off, so he could catch me.

If you don't have a stab ball they can be found faily cheaply at TJMaxx, Marshalls, or Ross.

Hope that helps.

Hey! Don't get discouraged!

I started crossfit in July and I couldn't do one pull-up, now, I can do 12 consecutively, and there are workouts that I do that call for 100 pullups, and I can do it! Just keep on Keepin' on! Also, do negatives! (Where you jump up to the top of the pull up position, and slooooooowly lower yourself down to a hang, it really does work!

I have fairly pitiful upper body strength. I broke BOTH arms in Sept 08, and never fully regained my strength. Partly because working on arm strength hurts...pushups are simply impossible, not just because of strength, but that strain on my arms is painful.

Pullups are very hard though...I'll be super impressed when you can pump out a bunch of them, haha.
