Hey all! I havent posted in a while..a long while! Im having some major issues here and they are starting to really piss me off.
I have been eating "clean" (fruits/veggies/protein etc) proper portions (tosca reno eat-clean diet book) about 5 small meals a day.
I havent had coffee in TWO WEEKS, and trust me when i say i drink it like ice cream... lots of cream and sugar...so cutting all cream and 95% of sugar out of my diet..to me, that should do something right there right?
And excersize, ive been doing the treadmill every morning around 6am, for between 15-30 minutes, (if 15, ido more later too). I use the incline, have varied routines so I dont get to used to it...all that good stuff.
I also do cardio tapes/ turbo jam, whatevers on demand a few times a week. sometimes i even do the tread at night too....
I added in some strength training as well this week,
Ok so all that.. and NOTHIN! not a damn thing? What gives>!
Ohhh and , as much as I hate water , ive been drinking 5-6 of those BIG sipper bottle poland springs waters (sports bottles?) every single frickin day!
Im not ready to give up..becqause i know that regardless the food im eating and excersize im doing is good for me... but its really hard to stick with it with basically no results.
Im 28....and i know when u lose and regain its that much harder....but almost every time i diet or start a routine, i lose ATLEAST the first 3-5lbs FAST, even if its just water weight.. but this time.. im doing every single thing right, and NADA!
So, sorry for the lonnnng post and the *****ing and moaning, im just aggrivated and dont know what else to do to see some results before i go drown myself in ice coffee and a big fat plate of chips.........then the damn scale would budge i bet! HAHAAHAH in the wrong direction, though lol!
I am having the same problem. I am eating 1200 cal everyday and working out for an hour 3 times a week burning 400-500 cal. I drink water and yet my scale is stuck at 226 for the last 3 weeks. My hubby has lost 6 lbs and dosen't even try. I don't understand.

Hi crystal422
From what I am seeing, you are not eating enough calories for your weight and the amount of exercise you do. Try upping it to 1500 for a week and see if you don't get some results.
Im using the guide in the eat-clean book for portions (im not sure on the calorie aspect)
here's a days worth as an example,i drink the water throughout the day as well
8am 1 strawberry & 1/2 small banana sliced
1/2 slice (very thin) of home made whole wheat bread with 1 tsp peanut butter
(got my fruit, starchy and protein)
5 pm 1 portion (2 cupped hands) carrots/green beans mixed. 1 serving (1 cupped hand) sweet potato, 1 serving (palm of hand) boneless skinless grilled chicken breast, 1/4 cup home made applesauce (apple and cinn only no sugar added)
This is a little less than i normally eat, usually supposed to be 1-2 more meals in there, but i wasnt hungry. During other days, i eat similar though, proteins, fruits, veggies
maybe the drastically reduced caffeine intake slowed down your metabolism a bit. Once all of that settles out I bet you will see more progress.
Your body might just be in a bit of shock from so much change in such a short period. Keep with it for a couple more weeks and if nothing still then reevaluate and adjust your plan, don't give up on having a plan. Those two things are worlds apart.
EDIT: I just saw your post below....you are not eating enough. You are eating good food, but not enough. I'd try to up your calories a bit by adding some more protein, more meat or cottage cheese or something. I'm no calorie counting whiz, but I would be surprised if your list is above 1000 cals.

The food you list are very clean and low in calories. It seems to me you're not getting enough calories in, and that's what's causing the stunt in weight loss.
The best thing you can do is research how many calories are in each item you're ingesting. If it's too low then what is recommended then I would up it by 100-200 cals a day.
There are a lot of web sites online that give you accurate (or close to) numbers in every food available.
Though, I'd like to have another members opinion on it, as I could be wrong.
EDIT: I just saw randomcards edit his post, and he says the same thing as me. Since he's one of the smartest members I know, it is probably the best conclusion.
I know it's strange to say 'EAT MORE!' but you need to find that proper range to keep your body burning.
ayiyi I dont suppose those extra calories can just be some chips or a candybar? LOL! i dont know how much more fruit i can eat LOL! especially when 75% of the day, im not hungry after eating the little meals LOL! eck!

You don't have to eat just fruit and veggies. Personally I only eat fruit and veggies as snacks or with a meal (example: veggies and some chicken).
I'd fill in the gap with anything; Yogurt, a whole wheat sandwich of your choice (maybe a ham sandwich or chicken breast), some soup, really you don't have to limit your diet so much to lose weight -but I'm not saying you can't or shouldn't.
I just eat as I Normally do, avoid fast food as much as possible, drink a lot of water, try to avoid caffeine and salty/sugary foods, and exercise 4 times a week with weights for 90 minutes. I've given up some bad things and things I can live without, but I still have pastas, cheese, potatoes etc, in moderation and I count everything I put in my mouth (including any sauces, dips, and drinks)
I hope that helps. Everyone is so different, just do what works for you, and try different things to keep the body guessing.
Dixie, I don't think you're eating enough. I know it sounds counter intuitive, but too few calories will absolutely make your body hold onto the weight. I would add a lot more protein to what you are eating and definitely a good deal more calories!
Thanks guys, Im thinking you gotta be right because i just dont see any other logical reason why im not dropping! Later today I will figure out the cals of the past few days to get an average and post... hoping thats it!

Thank you ... that's what I was going to ask you to do too! I'd also like to know your time frame ... two weeks? Did you have a period in there?
Yikes! Well i just tallied up yesterday's calories...including the salad i had last night around 8 (i wanted chips, lol so small victory!) Looks like i had about 900 cals, i may be a little off, so ill say 1,000 minus the approx 150 i burned on the treadmill and thats not good.... so looks like that just may be my problem after all! I guess thats a good problem to have lol!
So today i already started doing better, i woke up really early (like 430!)(not planned) and went on the treadmill for 40 mins. Around 645 i had a packet of apple cinn oatmeal (130 cals) and 1/2 a small banana (45 cals)
Then @ 9 I had 2 scrambled eggs(150 c), 3 small slices pepperoni (40 c), 1 tbs skim shredded mozzerella cheese (25 c). 1/2 a 4" whole wheat pita (35 c) and 1/2 a cup fat free choco milk (75 cals)
Does this sound better? Thats a big breakfast, normally i wouldnt eat such a large meal but i had been up since 430...and hungry lol
You're eating a whole lotta sugar and sugar-producing foods. A spike in insulin levels packs away calories and prevents them from burning. You don't need to go "low carb," but I would suggest swapping out things like pitas and breads for protein and a little bit of fat. Maybe switch to full-fat cottage cheese?
I hit submit before I finished my post. I hate when I turn my brain off.
When I started low-carbing (the only way I can lose weight, not necessary for most), I had a HARD TIME getting above 1200 calories a day while using "low fat" products. I'd lose weight for a week or two, then stall. I switched to full fat cheeses and fattier meats (especially fatty tuna and the occasional burger) and was able to get my calories up to 1500 to 1600 per day. Your body does need fat, so keeping 30% of your calories from is probably a good idea. It looks as if a very small percentage of your intake is from fat, and most of it is from carbs and protein.
