Default Mom of a 1 year old and in my 40's! Need.More.Energy!

Hi everyone. I'm Susie in Texas and I'm a SAHM to a one year old handful of a little boy and a 9 year old girl in 3rd grade.

I have got to get more energy to keep up with this little guy and I'm so looking forward to the day my little girl can hug me around the middle and her arms can reach!

2010 is going to be MY YEAR!

My hubby and I will celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary in May and I want to be at my wedding weight very close that that date. I weighed 174 when we got married and I wore a size 10/12. My wedding gown was a size 12 that was taken in to fit me.

My biggest goal of 2010 is to wear a size 10 again by 10/10/10!! That's a Sunday, so I'm looking forward to buying a gorgeous new dress to wear to church and I just may leave the tag on it!!

Hi Susie!
Sounds like you have your hands full - I know you'll enjoy your anniversary as a more fabulous you - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on..

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired. Try the 40 somethings and the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a definite must for motivation.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals - can't wait to hear about your new anniversary dress,
Lee

I know how you feel. I only have one and she is one. I'm in my 40's and she is a ball of energy. I realized if for no other reason I need to get healthy so I can keep up with her.

Welcome and lets get it done together.

Welcome, Susie, I am so glad you are here! Congratulations on choosing to be a healthy, happy new you! I wish you the best of luck on your journey, and I just know you will reach your goal!

I have this vision of you now with the tag hanging out like that character that used to be on Hee Haw years ago...there was this character that always had a new hat on, and someone would say, "but you forgot to take the tag off!" Because the tag would be hanging down very prominently. And she'd say, "but then how are people supposed to see how much I paid for the hat if I take the tag off?"

I posted an starter post in early december. One of my main motivations to start was

"When I realized that playing with my toddler usually meant moving from the couch to the floor and trying to convince her to run around"

Within about two weeks of working out 4-5 times a week and eating right I was like a whole new person (way more than weight loss). I now play with my daughter way more, and view physcial play as "bonus" exercise which she loves.

In fact often times I'll do exercise moves with her as my "weight", she loves it.

Anyway, more than any # of lbs, that reward has been vastly superior for me than anything more superficial.

Welcome and good luck!
