Default Team Leno or Team O'Brien?

If you have to ask, you aren't qualified to vote anyhoooooooo ... You don't need to give your reasons (although you can!) Just your vote (and here's mine):

LENO!!!

EEP! Sorry gonna have to go with Coco on this one. You don't reward someone with low ratings by giving them the best time slot and change decades of television history in the process. On the flip side, you don't punish someone with good ratings by moving them somewhere that will almost certainly hinder his success.

Leno.

I INTERRUPT THIS THREAD TO ASK: What happened to Headlines (which are the only reason I ever bother to watch)? In an earlier thread I asked when he had them in the prime-time show, and someone kindly said Headlines and the similar features were at the end, so I'd turn on just before the show ended (20 lashes with a wet lo-carb noodle for me). Then suddenly they weren't on at the end of the Monday-night show any more, although I'd see them referred to in the promos I NOW RETURN YOU TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED THREAD

The headlines are back on Monday nights in the new show, right after the monologue. They changed that a few weeks back.

Those of you who are voting Conan ... were you regular viewers, nightly, or just occasional, OR have you just read the news headlines? All the people who are cheering for him now ... where were they when his ratings were in the toilet for seven months??? Jay should have gone to another network when they took the show away, considering he was late night king for FIFTEEN years!!! Stupid NBC!

The villain in this piece is NBC ... these are both great guys, in a situation badly mismanaged by the network, don't you think?

If I have to choose between the two, then Leno. I think Conan's monologue is funnier but hate his skits and don't like how he interviews.

I'd much rather watch Craig Ferguson! He cracks me up!

Marms I agree I watch Craig Ferguson every night.

He's the funniest guy on late night.

Bad choices all around. I used to watch Leno regularly and then change the channel when Conan came on. I can't stand Conan's kind of comedy.

Buut, Conan is really getting a raw deal here.

These days I skip both and go for Stewart and Colbert.

Of course, for those who say Conan is getting a raw deal, he could STILL have done The Tonight Show at 12:05, despite getting lousy ratings for 7 months, while making MILLIONS so he's not in exactly desperate straits either way, right? Jay Leno got a raw deal when he was asked to step down after being #1 for 15 years! NBC is the villain, here, though ... no defense for what they did, except it is a business and they can do what they want. Ultimately, people speak with their remote!

Leno

I think age plays a big part in preference. My DH, my sisters and most of my friends prefer Leno's show, too. But our college aged/young adult kids all prefer Coco.

coco! i only started watching the tonight show when he took it over because i could never stand leno. i do agree the only real villain here is nbc and leno and conan are just their pawns. the whole thing is unfortunate.

also- i'm definitely not going to watch the tonight show again, if they move it or if they give it to leno because frankly Craig Fergason is funnier then both of them combined any day & we'll probably start watching him instead.
