Default Biggest Loser contest at gym

I just logged in here tonight, knowing I am going to get support wherever I can find it. I joined the gym's Biggest Loser competition on Friday. There is a $600 prize, four winners. They make it men and women, but who loses the most weight and who loses the most on their BMI.

I have to have attitude that I am going to win, or why join? I knew I wasn't committed to my summer plan, like I thought, until I had joined the contest, suddenly I was totally like, 'what was I thinking?' LOL

I am happy to say I got through the first weekend pretty darn good. We always have date night and eat out of course... we went to our favorite Italian place. My DH gets pizza and I get spaghetti with italian sausage, then eat about four slices of pizza when I am done... btw that is horrible just reading that I do that.. YIKES

However, I ordered the small plate, which is a small salad plate of spaghetti, I said sausage but then changed to their marinated mushrooms, which turned out to be way better than the meat. They are only marinated in red wine vinegar.

But I didn't touch the pizza and I was proud I scaled way way way back. I saw that regular plate of noodles come to the table next to us and was really surprised at how huge it was in comparison to my little plate. I eat alot!! No more fellow thin chickies!!

I will keep you updated. I have to change my ticker because it says 334 I think, and I weighed in at 352 pounds.. oh, well, at least now I am trying. I really am approaching this all different, I have my husband involved, which I have not done before, he is great.

Thanks everyone, and hope to jump on here at least once a week. Good luck to all of you guys out there fighting the good fight on this weight thing!

That sounds fun! Kudos to you. I never join these biggest loser things in embarrassment of my weight. I would love to though.

Default Fattest in contest

Well, they finally got the board posted up with men on one sheet and women on the other. You are identified by your number, not name. Thank God.

I looked today, I am the fattest one out of 54 people. By FIFTY + pounds!!! That is an advantage for me, if I stick to this, I should lose some pretty quick. But it did motivate me.

Most women who signed up were averaging 240 pounds. There were about 6 women who weighed in under 175 pounds. The only other person to weigh even close to me, was a man who weighed 300 pounds. I weigh 52 pounds more than him.

I never go walking after the gym, I just justify I did 'something'. Today, I drove straight to the park and walked an hour. I feel good about that. I hope I can keep it up.

One good thing, is when I went to my acupuncturist, who practices Chinese medicine, she got me and my husband off all kinds of chemical laden food and eating clean, so this isn't like I am having to overhaul my entire diet, just my exercise and portion control.

Believe me when I say, you can eat clean and 2500-3000 calories EASILY in a night, hello steak and potatoes. LOL ...not really funny now though that I am the heftiest in there.

I will keep everyone posted as to how it goes. They gave us the first challenge, whoever loses the most weight before February 5th gets a $25 subway card. Nothing big, but it just might set the course for who is going to win. Thought I might seriously try for it.
