Default New slider a bit flimsy?

I've been doing WW on my own for about 4 weeks now, but I joined a WW at work group. Today was our first meeting, and we received our week 1 materials. I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed in the new slider. The one we received is attached to the book in which we record our weight. It's really two sliders in one (on one side, you calculate food points, and on the other side, you calculate activity points). And it's made of a very thin cardboard, which is pretty flimsy. I doubt it will survive a week in my handbag.

I really like the older sliders better. They were studier and the food/activity sliders were separate.

Is anyone out there getting better materials at their meetings, or is it the same everywhere?

Default I agree

Hi Sue,
I agree with you that the newer sliders are flimsy. I got mine at the WW center last year. In fact, when I tore mine out of the book, I did not do a good job, and it has a jagged edge. I just use one of my older ones now. At least my many years of receiving WW sliders has an upside!
continued success to you-
Judy

I took mine apart and laminated my sliders. Then I taped the sides back so it would slide.

Creative, Daimere!

I've never seen the other sliders, but I understand how easy it would be to trash it. I've got more problems with keeping the pages in the book than I do with the slider so far.

Daimere -- I think I'm going to follow your example and reinforce my slider. I've also scanned a copy of it just in case I need a backup. Thanks for the good idea!!

I am guessing WW really wants us to purchase their handy dandy little calculator. I didnt think of just reinforcing the one I already have. *duH!*

Most of the people at my meetings kept their books in a plastic bag. We just got new books at the beginning of the year and they came with a plastic sleeve. It really helps keep them in better shape.
