Default Drifting off plan...

This week I have been pretty lame about staying on plan. I use the term "plan" loosely because I don't really have a written out plan. I calorie counted and meal planned/recorded for the first few weeks, but once I got the groove of what and how much I could eat, I stopped. I still pay attention to calories and serving sizes, I just don't record or plan. It's been working well for me, I've lost every week including holidays.

But for some reason, this week was not a good week. I exercised like normal, but I had too many "eh, eating just this one ____ won't hurt" events. I had a night of drinking, more than a couple cookies (I believe I had about 6 or 7 chocolate chip cookies over 2 days), a big portion of rice yesterday, and a McDonald's Southwest Salad. The salad itself isn't awful, with half a packet of dressing it's supposedly less than 400cal, but it's still loaded in sodium and I consider it junky.

Basically, it could have been a lot worse. I was having a craving for some Chinese buffet yesterday, but resisted, thank God. I could have eaten the whole batch of cookies, but I gave most of them away (I made them for a party). But it was just slightly worriesome that I allowed myself to drift as much as I did this week. I don't want to continue the trend of drifting until I'm back to where I was when I started.

Anyways, we'll see what the damage was when I weigh in on Friday. This post was more of just me saying my thoughts to have some accountability, more than anything.

The key to the whole thing is recognizing "off plan" stuff and thats exactly what youre doing When you fall off jump back on and dont let a week turn into a month! You just have to get up more times than you fall down

I've been doing the same thing lately. What's bad is those "one-won't-hurt" moments turn into binges. I really pigged out last night and for no reason...I can't seem to get back into the groove of things! I think it's because I haven't been able to work out as much...

It is really important, though, that you're looking at how bad you COULD have done versus the little mistake you actually made. We're all works in progress and the changes are gradual.

Good job...we'll both get back on track, I know it!

Thanks guys, I know we've all been there

For me, I'm just really focusing on one step at a time. Last night, it was way past my usual dinner time and I had to run an errand. I was in the same shopping center as my faaavorite Chinese buffet. It smelled so amazing, and I was *literally* focusing on one step at a time away from the fat/MSG fest that is Chinese food, haha. It's amazing how powerful food cravings can be.

Even though I had a not so great week, if half of my brain is throwing a tantrum about not eating what it wants, the other half reminds me that how I feel now, 20lbs down, is soooo much better than I felt a few months ago. The happiness and pride I feel when I have a good weigh in is 10 times better than a week of eating tasty junk.

I just wanted to tell you to hang in there!

I bet you are still doing better than you were previously, therefore the weight will come off, just slower which isn't neccessarily a bad thing!

I can totally relate!

I weighed in today, and WOW! I am down 2.6lbs! How in the world did that happen?? I exercised this week after a few weeks of hardly any physical activity, and I stayed on plan minus my little oopsies.

Maybe my body needed a sugar kick, lol.
