Default The Numbers

If you've seen my previous posts, I am very numbers oriented. BMI, calories, etc..
Today I checked my BMI and I am no longer "morbidly obese" just plain old obese!! 40 is morbidly obese, and I just hit 39! Now I just have to work on getting to "overweight" but that's gonna take some time... My BMI has gone from 48 to 39, so I am very proud of that! Also I have lost 1/3 of the weight I set out to lose. ( I needed to lose 153 to get to a high ideal weight of 160). So far I have lost 56 pounds!! I only have to lose 6 more pounds and I will have lost 20% of my original body weight. Amazing, huh?

anyone else care to crunch YOUR numbers? It keeps me on track. I know the experts say losing 10% of your body weight can really reduce your risk of developing disease if you keep it off. For example if you weigh 250 and lose 25 lbs that alone is great for your body if you maintain the loss!

lets see those numbers!!

Hi Jen!
You can check out BMI at www.knowyourbmi.com or at www.weightwatchers.com. On the ww homepage just scroll to the bottom and you will see the icons to click on for ideal weight charts based on healthy BMI's and a chart for ideal weight too.
have fun!

Ok, it said that my BMI is 45(what's that for obese wise, is it morbidly obese or just regular obese?)

It also said that my ideal weight is 116-140lbs. I think I'll stick to the goal weight of 150lbs...to me it just sounds a little more realistic for me.

Hey KnCmamma-
A BMI of 40 or more is unfortunately "morbidly obese", meaning your weight is putting you at higher risk for all the bad guys...cancer, heart disease, stroke, etc... Thats why I was glad to be at 39!
It can be a new inspiration to lose more weight!!
30-39--obese
26-30--overweight
so for me I still have to lose 55 more pounds just to not be Obese anymore!!
hope this helps ya-

Okay...mine's 36, which isn't as bad as I thought it would be. And, ****, I didn't need THAT to tell me that I'm obese!
