Default constipation ?

Since I found out I was pregnant I changed my eating from dieting to maintenance mode. I have been doing a lousy job at it where I don't eat all my calories (1,900), I usually end up eating 1,500 at the end of the day. I was doing a low Carb diet before so I had to up my carbs from 20 to now 65-70 carbs a day. But even those haven't been met, I sometimes will barely hit 60 but mostly its 50-55. I also started exercising to help me maintain.
Well since I found out I was pregnant, I've now gained 6 lbs. I haven't really been going #2, when I do it doesn't seen nearly enough so I know its just getting backed up. I've always had a problem with constipation. A couple months ago I started taking an herb to help make me more regular, since finding out I was pregnant I stopped taking it.
Here's what I normally eat in a day, I'm used to routine so this is pretty much it and I don't really get bored eating it. Unless we decided to go out and even then, its only one cheat meal for that day but this doesn't happen too often and I still make sure its not a major cheat:

breakfast:
2 eggs, 2 bacon, a slice of toast w/butter, a serving of cheddar cheese. And hot tea w/ cream and sugar
Lunch: poached Tilapia, steamed cabbage (3 cups) w/ butter, and sometimes another serving of cheddar cheese. Drink:water. Sometimes I trade the cabbage for a salad (3 cups of lettuce, 1/4 bell pepper, and 3 tbs. ranch dressing).
Dinner: Chicken breast, salad (3 cups lettuce, 1/4 bell pepper, 3 tbs ranch dressing). drink: water or hot tea
snack: will either be 1/4 cup of mixed nuts or 1/4 cup of dried fruit. Or 1/4 cup sunflower seeds.
I measure and keep track of everything I eat, so I make sure any snack I have is okay so that I don't mess up.

am I not eating enough veggies? I do take my prenatal vitamin, Omega-3, and Super B-Complex vitamin.
I look bloated. :-(

I know this is my #5, but this is also the first time I'm trying hard not to gain weight like I did with my others. Other times I would already be going hog wild saying "Oh well, now I'm eating for two." Yeah whatever, those days are gone, I want to only gain what I need to but my body doesn't want to cooperate. :-(

Not from this forum, but I saw it from the front page... and looking at your typical daily meal, I'd say you DEFINITELY need to up your veggies and fruits during the day, the more fresh, the better (more fiber). Veggies typically have very low calories, so you shouldn't up much on your cals and they have plenty of good for you vitamins for you and baby. And if that fails, try some ground flaxseed (great with the Omega3's and fiber) to sprinkle on some oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, etc. I actually just take my 2tbsp of it with water daily if I don't eat any of those in my meals.

Good luck, and congrats!

Agree about eating more veggies. Also, try drinking warm/hot water with the juice of a freshly squeezed lemon and a teaspoon of honey in it, once or twice a day. (If one, in the morning. If two, morning and lunch.) Even if you go with something else to help temporarily, drinking that should help keep the problem from recurring. You can also make it without the honey, though I am not sure if it is as effective.

Another thing is check and see if your prenatal has iron. Sometimes that can really back you up!

I really recommend Magnesium supplementation. Also, psyllium husk is natural and you can take supplements for that too. Increase your water intake and work out (unless you already do). I also think the cheese has got to go. Replace it with veggies like broccoli or spinach. I like fruit like pomegranate, which is kind of more in season now. Also, could you replace your bacon with oatmeal? That would seem a lot healthier and higher in fiber too.

You can take Colace, I had to take it a few times - usually non-stimulant laxatives are OK but just check with your doc first. Good luck!
