HI! I am brand new to this forum. I picked up the 3FC book at my library today and so now here I am. I am 22 and in desperate need to lose weight. I weigh 270 lbs and I am really wanting to get healthy so that my life does not end at a very young age. I feel like I am missing out on so much in life because of my weight. I want to hike, canoe, scuba dive and anything else outdoors. I want to be able to fully live my life and not be out of breath all the time. I am very excited about this! I hope I get lots of support during my ups and downs of my lifestyle change. I am also hoping to meet great people here that I can support as well. Feel free to message me for anything!!!

Sounds like you're ready to go with determination and a positive attitude - you have it right: it's a lifestyle change to get healthy, not about just losing weight.
Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different plans to help you choose the right one for you and get you through the ups and downs.
There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.
I've only been here a short time myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

I found this site the same way. It is good you are trying your library as there is soooo much information out there it would get expensive if you had to rely on the bookstores.
I was wondering if you had a plan of attack yet or if you were still just trying to find the right plan for you.
I too am new here as of last week and although I don't get to post often, I have been reading the forums every day and find them very motivational. I did not know there was a 3fc book, I will need to check that out. The one think I have learned this past week is that if I really want this, it is possible. It won't be easy, but it can be done.
Hey from another new girl! Good luck...I'm sure you're going to have a lot of success. I myself have found this site to be a really great source of information and it's so reassuring to see that other people are experiencing the same things I am.
Im also new, I just came across this site from a search on google, Im really excited it seems like you get much more support on here then you would from a dieting club, but its free! Im excited at the prospect of my weight loss, because I know Im going to do it this time! Good Luck
