Hi!! SO HAPPY to have found this site-Already need HELP!!
Hi Everyone! I am 28 live in Ga and am READY to start my new journey to a healthier, happier me
I have a 5 year old son and another son who is almost a year old-can't use him as a weight excuse anymore...
I need help already, I started the New Lifestyle Diet on Monday Nov. 2 and have not lost one ounce!! I am so frustrated and discouraged I have followed it perfectly (except for working out, I tripped over a shoe while holding my 28 lb baby and severely HURT my back, but I walk every day-just nothing strenuous)
AND I am hungry all the time-I really feel like giving up and going back to my yummy (but very bad) food, but to be honest I do feel better even if I don't look better. I really like the tase of NLD and don't have a problem following it, except for when it is dessert time, that is hard, but I really thought I would lose weight quicker!!
I can't wait to get to know more of you and share in this journey (and get a siggy

I have not tried or even heard of the plan you are on so I am no help there but I want to input a couple things -
- it will probably take more than 5 days to see if a plan is working for you
- you may be feeling hungry due to a cut back in calories (eating less than before and stuffs)
- if you continue to not get any success and/or stay hungry, I would suggest try a different approach (I am a calorie counter..it is fairly simple, flexible and best of all, it is free)
The diet is focused around liquids, which means no more of your favorite foods, not even in moderation. Liquid diets are not sustainable for long periods of time. I'd give it some more time to see if you get results and then ask for my money back if nothing happens. You will have to eat real food for the rest of your life so may want to switch to a more normal eating plan.
I am not familiar with this diet either, but with any diet it ususally takes more than five days to see progress. I agree with RuthXXX , a more flexible, less stringent plan may be easier for you to follow. I have found calorie counting works best for me.
Ruth I tried using "real" food, but I couldn't get enough calories, or remember to eat 'til it was 5 o'clock at night. Then I would eat EVERYTHING I could find-not exactly healthy. I am so ashamed to admit it but in one day I once ate 9 Entenmanns donuts (the choclate frosted ones that have like 17 g of sat. fat per donut-NO wonder I am so overweight!!
So I am using this diest to retrain myself to eat every 2 hours and have already developed a healthier relationship with food. I know it is fuel not fun. So I only plan on staying on the liquid diet for about 6 weeks until I get myself under control and used to eating at normal times.
I have no idea how to begin a healthy calorie counting diet, but I will look into for when I transition. The reason why I picked this diet is because I wanted to see results FAST (as it promises) so I wouldn't give up. But so far nothing...
But I am so happy I feel better, just wish I could lose my mommy tire
You may lose weight fast in the beginning but it won't last. Your weight loss will stall and then when you do return to eating again then you most likely will gain the lost weight back and maybe plus some. I truly urge you to change your mindset and eat a healthy diet that will work for a lifetime.
Also wanted to add that there are no miracle or fast weight loss solutions. It is about calories in vs calories out. Simple. as. that. No need for pills, patches, hypnotherapy, liquids, fad diets.
Hi!! I was just reading about you made me all warm inside I can tell that your going to do great in this community and your going to lose weight with encouragement and support from us all...yea I have used the fact that I had two sets of twins as my excuses...but everytime I see kate from jon an kate plus 8 I tell myself i can and will lose weight and no more excuses...well good luck and i know you will lose weight... Hapygrl-Welcome to 3FC! This is a great place with great people who are here to try to help you find a healthy way to reach your weight loss goal. As people are trying to tell you, anything you can't do forever, will inevitably lead to weight regain. Guess what will happen when you go off that liquid diet? We are concerned that this will just lead you to more frustration and disappointment. I know that what we are suggesting you do is harder but the people here will help you. You can decide how you want to do this-calorie counting, low carb, south beach, fat smash. Maybe take some time to visit the forums here and learn a little about the various diets. Read the daily menu threads to see what people are eating and see if something looks like something you could do. Ask questions. Make a decision you can live with forever. We want you to be successful.
Thank everyone!! I really get what you are saying about not being able to stay on the liquid diet and then gaining it all back. And that was a major worry for me also. So far it has done what I wanted it to. I now (in only a week) have a healthier relationship with food and understand tha I need to eat often. I do plan to turn to calorie counting very soon-after I read up more about it (and I need to look into fat smash, never heard of it I just thought this would give me a good quick start that would motivate me.
I was doing the 30 day shred eating very well, and only lost 2 pounds in 25 days-I was so discouraged I gave up. SO I thought if I could lose a larger amount then maybe that would motivate me to keep going. But I am starting to think you guys are right-I totally feel like I am missing out and am just 1 meal away from a binge. Looks like I am off to do more research-Thanks

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.
I've only been here a short time myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.
So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!
