Default Dieting at a Bachelorette Party

One of my best friends is getting married at the end of the month, and tomorrow night is the bachelorette party... we're going to a big Italian family-style restaurant, followed by drinking and gambling.

How on earth should I tackle this? Later in the night, I'm going to only nurse one or two drinks, but I have no clue how I'm going to handle that much food in front of me with ten people at the table freely partaking and encouraging everyone to take seconds.

I'm going to the gym first thing tomorrow for a major workout and plan on eating light throughout the day, but does anyone have any suggestions for staying on track through dinner?

Thanks

I think you have a good plan there, but in addition, maybe try to order some of the "healthier" options from the family-style menu. Something that's mainly vegetables, or doesn't have a lot of cream/cheese sauces?

I think you have a good plan...
I went to a wedding and worked out like a mad woman and limited my cals during the day and then just chose the healthiest thing I could get at the reception. You should def stay away from the cream based meals and high cal pastas. The key here might be moderation. Get a few things you want and just eat slow and small bites!

Have a great time and try not to worry so much about food and drinks! You can work really hard the next few days to make up for it! =)

Thanks for the help! My big fear is that the bride-to-be or her mom might choose the more decadent things. Worst case scenario, I might just announce to the table that I'm on Weight Watchers; I mean, we're all girls, so I doubt they'd judge or argue.

I always forget to eat slowly. I'll keep that in my head throughout the meal.

Thanks again for the advice, ladies!

most likely they'll be paying more attention to the bride and themselves

just cradle your drink and never leave your plate empty giving the impression to other people you are eating ..

then again, its a celebration so live a little in moderation
