Default Bottomless Pit days

I have no trouble whatsoever sticking to my calorie allotment most day. I feel perfectly satiated and plenty energetic.
And than there are bottomless pit days. Those days when even double my calorie allotment probably wouldn't satisfy me. Today is one of those days. I need to workout in a bit but I am STARVING! No excuse for it though. I've already had plenty of food this morning. Plenty of protein, plenty of carbs, plenty of veggies...it's actually been a picture perfect day so far.
So why am I so hungry!

fun times

I just want to say I hear you. I've already passed my calorie allotment for the day and I've not had any dinner or after weight lifting calories. Some days I'm just hungry. Those days I usually just try to do damage control and keep it as low as I can manage. Start again tomorrow.

Well I exercised and now I'm not as starving as I was. Or at least I'm too worn out for multiple trips to the fridge LOL!!!

Yesterday, I dug myself into a Cold Stone Creamery Pit. Digging myself out wasn't exactly easy.... trying today!

Hope you succeeded! Well I did good through dinner, ate a really big dinner filled with healthy food. Had a pudding for dessert and was fine. Until about 10 minutes ago when I started wanting to eat my arm again.
I'm looking good calorie wise for the day so I'm about to just go to bed and hope tomorrow I am a normal person again LOL

I definitely have these kind of days occasionally. It's like no matter how much you eat, you still want more.

I just try to limit the damage and move on the next day. I figure if my body is that hungry, it needs something.

From what I understand these are not true hunger feelings but cravings depending on another need (usually emotional). When you get these 'hungry' moments you might need to distract yourself with something else. Exercise works great, housework, reading to your kids, calling a friend, brushing your teeth. If distraction doesn't work maybe try working on the emotional need, reducing stress, getting un-bored, watching a comedy, reading a funny blog.

Finally, if you must eat chew on celery.

I'm that way from about 6:30am til noon, then I"m ok.

But I'm starving all morning, no matter what I eat. I've tried it all, fiber, protien, combo thereof. Nothing seems to help.

Once I get past lunch, I'm fine.

FOr me, it is very hormonally directed. Even on the (birth control) pill.
Also, if I have a super carby dinner late night snack I am ravenous the next morning.

I try to keep low cal stuff around so I can eat until I am full and not have too many calories. Sourkraut (sp?) and kim chee are good for that. A very large apple is good for that. Those shiritake noodles are good for that.

good job on reaching out .
I am pretty sure everyone has bottomless pit days.

My husband always tells me to have a glass of water when I'm wandering around the house, wondering what I'm craving. It seems that thirst sometimes manifests as hunger/cravings. He's often right - I'll have a glass of water and it seems to fix what was ailing me.

I have these days too.

But you feel starving because technically if you are on a diet your body sees as it is physically starving.

It might be emotional, but if it's physical, it means that you ghrelin levels (hunger hormones) are running high. This happens to me if I've not had enough sleep, been eating too much junk, not eaten enough (<1200cal) for more than a day, drunk too much caffiene, and at certain times in my cycle. It's annoying, but I know if I can eat well and ignore it, tomorrow will be better.
