Default feeling discouraged

I weighed myself this morning and the needle hasn't budged one bit. My measurements haven't changed. I'm drinking way more water then I ever did in my life. I know I'm not supposed to go by calories also but even they have been within 600-800 a day. And my carbs are 20g or less. My fat grams are under 60
So how do I get back on ketosis while on the induction phase? Should I go off the diet (go back to Low Cal) for a week then come back? I never thought losing weight would be this hard.

I think one of the reasons why its so low is because I eliminated cheese from my day or only have once a day.

I'm not familiar with Atkins, so maybe I shouldn't butt in here, but 600-800 calories a day is very low. Your body might be going into "starvation mode." I've heard that anything below 1200 is unhealthy. But again, I'm not familiar with Atkins.

600-800 cals a day is way to low. You should be eating way more on Atkins, or any plan. when I was losing on Atkins I was eating 1200-2200 calories you need to eat to keep you metabolism working properly. Low fat, low cal, Atkins won't work. Try increasing your fat and be sure your protein and veggies are adequate also. I had to start tracking calories on Atkins to make sure they where high enough to keep loosing. Your appetite naturally decreases on Atkins so you have to be careful not to go too low with your fat and cals.

I know, when I eliminated the cheese to see if it would jump start my weight loss again, it dropped my calories this low. I've been worried about it because I know its low.

I agree with Punce....your calories are way too low. Most people are under the false assumption Atkins is a high protein plan....that is incorrect. Atkins is a high fat plan. Make sure you are getting plenty of fat....eggs, full fat mayo, full fat salad dressing, sour cream, butter, minimal cheese....meaning, 3-4 ozs. per day is permitted but, if you suspect an issue with cheese, try 1 or 2 ozs. and don't eat it everyday. Veggies & salads are equally important...if you're doing Induction, 12-15 of your 20 net carbs should be coming from acceptable foods list veggies & salad. Trying to do a "low fat" version of Atkins, isn't going to work. The reason being, since you are not eating bad carbs like breads, potatoes & pasta....your body is burning the high fat you are eating for energy....this is basically ketosis.

see that was the thing. when I first stopped losing some one told me that my Fat was too high, that that was probably the reason. So I started watching my Fat.
I'll definitely go back to normal and not eat cheese everyday. Gotta get back to reading the Atkins book. :-(
Love it when people try to confuse you.

Not meaning to go off on a tirade here....but....THIS is exactly why I tell people over & over again...."Read The Book"!!! When you are doing Atkins, that book is your bible!
Ok, end of rant

No no.....that wasn't meant for you personally. It was just in general. Whenever anyone on Atkins is in doubt about anything....go to the book, there is no substitute. These boards are great for advice & opinions....but, the book is where the valuable information about how to do this plan correctly is & why this plan works when it is done correctly

Yeah definitely too little calories! I'd say add that cheese back in and have larger portions of your food- and full fat dressings like ranch and other low carb ones

LOL no, I know but I did need it. In the back of my mind I kept thinking "Maybe I should read the book" but I kept trying to figure things out on my own. well I didn't do such a great job. So I'm reading it now.

Getting back to basics is a good idea, Obviously it was working for you before, you've lost 35lbs already!! Thats awesome. You are getting close to goal and the last few Lbs may be the slowest to come off, so hang in there!!

Wow, glad so many people have stepped in to tell you that you've gotta up those calories!

The principle of a carb-restricted lifestyle (a la Atkins) is that it is fundamentally a HIGH FAT, moderate protein diet. You cannot be successful cutting out both carbs and fat and for losing weight and being healthy you shouldn't even try.

I believe Atkins in one of his earlier books had an approach for people who were genuninely stalled (and other low-carb diet developers have similar strategies) : they call it a fat fast. What it comes down to is eating basically ONLY fats for a few days to really crank into high-gear ketosis (like an epileptic ketogenic diet). Apparently it's hugely effective if you've been following the plan and are stuck.

I don't think it's for you - at least not yet - because I don't think right now you're close enough to 'following the plan' since you've cut your fat & calories back so much.

I know you're impatient to get the weight loss moving again, but I actually think what you're going through is really important training for successful maintenance. Maintenance is basically paying attention and not losing weight, and figuring out what you CAN and CANT do to keep your weight. To adjust to maintaining your weight on a low carb lifestyle can be challenging, especially if you have had a very 'diet' approach to losing it (weighing, measuring, counting).

Hang in there - you'll figure out what adjustments you need to be successful soon!
