New girl, doing Making the Cut
Hi! This is my first time posting to a weight-loss forum, but I thought that I could give it a try and see what happens!
As my profile indicates, I am 5'2" and about 151 lbs, and would like to get down to about 120. Like a lot of you, I have been gaining and losing the same 10 lbs for awhile. Unfortunately, back in the day, when I gained and lost 10 lbs, I fluctuated between 120 and 130. Then 130 and 140. Then 140 and 150. Then 150 and 160. Then 160 and 170. You get the picture.
My high weight, as far as I know, is 167, which I hit January 1, 2007. I say "as far as I know" because I might have been heavier than that, I just didn't have the courage to get on the scale!
Right now, I am discouraged. I have been reading a lot of posts where people have lost 150 lbs + in the same amount of time that I have lost about 15 lbs (from January 2007 until now).
Like a lot of you, I get going pretty good - eating right, logging my food, exercising nearly every day - and I lose weight. Then, I get to a certain point and lose focus and the weight comes right back on. I basically need to know what to do when I start to lose focus, and push through to the next level, instead of getting to one level and going right back up to the previous level.
Here is what I am doing - keeping track of my calories at Livestrong.com. I am trying to stay right around 1,400-1,500. I am doing Jillian Michaels' "Making the Cut." I just completed day 8, but the scale hasn't budged any since I started her program. My sodium level is generally around 1,500, my fiber around 26 grams a day. Sugars I try to keep below 50 mgs per day.
Any suggestions about what I can do to lose the weight would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
