Smile New to Group - Need to find a PCOS doctor

Hi, I just found your group this morning and joined. I am 43 years old, had Endometriosis when I was 21 and lived with pelvic pain for almost 10 years. I was able to get pregnant one time at 25 and delivered no problem but could never get pregnant again. GYN told me that I had cysts on my ovaries but said it was normal. Had a hysterectomy and right oopherectomy when I was 30. Began noticing male pattern hair loss within 6 months after that - GYN just downplayed it. By 35 I began noticing black hair above my lip, now I have it on my chin and beginning on the sides of my face. I have multiple skin tags on my neck and have a some under my arms as well. I am about 40 pounds overweight and have been most of my adult life.

I found out about PCOS by being frustrated about the hair on my face - had no idea I had so many of the symptoms and if I do have it then there were warning signs when I was younger that were not picked up on for sure.

So, now I need to find a good doctor in the Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Durham area who understands this disease well so that I don't end up getting the run-around. I know there are several here so does anybody have good experience with any of them?

Thanks so much

Thanks Jessica. I have been on that site and although I did find a few docs on there nothing is better than a good recommendation because you just never know what you are gonna get - good doctors are hard to find these days
