Talking Hi, everyone !

Hi, Im Vicky.
I'm new here and posting for the first time.
I have set a huge goal for myself. 100lbs ! I figure, well, why not?
It's my ultimate goal but anything in between will be great.

I'm not on any perticular diet that's why I'm here. I know what to do. Just can't get to doing it. WHy? I don't know. I do know that I need to be on a low carb diet and I'm gathering info right now..

But I will be having a huge birthday in a couple of months..the big 5-0.
Yep I feel my (second) life crisis coming...lol.

I think it's a good thing. I feel its making me do something..getting me going. I'm happy for it.lol

I live in southern CA...I know, you're saying ..hec if I had that kind of weather all year long I could go out and walk everyday...nope.
Why? I dont know...Im trying to figure it all out..the whys, the why nots..etc.
I do know I need to get myself under control.

Well I hope to make lots of friends here. I hope to get inspired and hopefully to inspire some one else too.

I hope I stick to this weight loss this time...and I hope I keep up with this group.

Thanks for reading..see ya around the boards,

Vicky

Hi Vicky!

I'm new too. I only joined the other day and I'm finding the site to be a great help.

I've about 50 lbs to lose but I'm breaking the one big goal down into several small ones. I intend to aim for little segments of 10% of my body weight. The small goals will be more attainable and that will keep the motivation going.

And if I can go out for a walk on the wild, wet west coast of Ireland and in the dark then I'm sure you can take the air in southern California.

Anyway, enjoy the forum and I'm sure we'll talk again!

Hi Vicky - sounds like you're ready to get it done!

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained!

There are lots of people here with more to lose and lots with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a short time myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome aboard - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

Hi, Vicky. You've chosen an excellent place to find support. Personally, I've found that jumping into a challenge is a great way to hold myself accountable. That, and every day, sometimes multiple times a day, I confess in the Daily Food and Exercise Confessions thread. Another great resource is the success stories and before/after pictures. They're so inspiring.

There is only one way to get started on something like this and it's to just do it. Start holding yourself accountable right now. Be honest with yourself about the food you eat and how much exercise you put in. As I mentioned before, accountability is really important for me. There are plenty of threads you can jump into and use to keep you on track. I would also recommend possibly keeping an eye on how many calories you're eating a day - they can be deceiving - and there are plenty of resources out there for you to track them with. Fitday, The Daily Plate, and Sparkpeople to name a few.

Welcome and we're glad to have you!
