Talking Tired of Watching my Life Pass Me by

Hi!
I am 34 years old and single. I weigh a whopping 235 pounds! This is the heaviest I have ever been. My weight issues control every aspect of my life. I have let my life stall and even regress and my self esteem has dwindled to almost nothing. I am a shell of the person I used to be/could be again. I can't stick to any kind of healthy eating program- even for a day. I either don't eat enough or binge on junk food! I find that I can't afford to be buying fresh vegetables all the time (I'm not real crazy about vegetables in the first place!) and I don't really cook. I will soon be going back to working 2 jobs so time will become an issue again too. I feel so disheartened and hopeless! I would like to someday have the confidence to go back to school and/or get a new job and to hopefully start dating again! Thanks for letting me vent....

Thank you. I think if I had some support I would stand a better chance! Everything I've read on here seems so positive and helpful- without the judgement! This might be just what I need.

Welcome!! Have you thought about Nutri-system? Then the meals would be pre-made for you. Just an idea.

Good luck on your journey. I was the same weight that you are at my starting weight. Maybe we could go through this journey together?

Hang in there!

Thank you! I am already encouraged! I have thought about Nutrisystem but I don't have the money for those programs. I'm usually ok until dinner!!!

Jenny, you can do this. You don't needs tons of time and you don't need tons of money. YOU NEED THE COMMITMENT. Placing your nutrition, exercise and sleep at the very top of your list--COME WHAT MAY! We can help you figure out the rest!

I am glad you are here.

Hi Jenny!
Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained!

There are lots of people here with more to lose and lots with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a short time myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

Jenny, there are many here who have been (or are) where you are now and have felt much like you - YOU CAN DO THIS - but it's one day at a time and one problem at a time - don't let the ups and downs that will come make you feel defeated and like giving up - work on getting yourself in a better place and the other things will fall into place.

So welcome - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

Glad you joined us!

I so relate to your post. In fact, the title of my goal story is "Don't wait - your life is calling".

You CAN do this! Really.

And - you've made a great start - 3FC is a fantastic resource for support, information and accountability!

Hi Jenny.

You seem really down at the moment

Different things work for different people and I think that on here you'll find some things that aren't quite for you.....but you'll see some posts and think "yep....that's going to work for me!"

So keep your chin up and have a good look round and join in the discussions. As for "venting", feel free. Apart from my WW meetings this is the only place I discuss my weight loss programme. My husband and children know what I'm doing but, apart from them, none of the rest of the family know and neither do my workmates. I made the mistake of telling people when I've been trying to lose weight in the past and found it became the sole topic of conversation. If they weren't badgering me about every morsel I ate ("are you allowed to eat that?") they were seeking my advice as to the the calorie content of everything that they ate. Drove me nuts!!

Anyway, welcome and I'm sure I'll see you around the forum.
