Default Hello, I'm new!

I am just learning how to use this website. I have been half heartedly exercising for the last year and have lost a total of 47 lbs. I am pretty proud of that but I really need to step it up! I have been going to the gym now for 4 weeks and just walk on the treadmill. I am able to do 2 miles now at a 3.0 speed and on a 4.0-5.0 incline. I think it rocks! However, I really do need to know some good secrets! My waist is shrinking but I realize that my arms are not...probably because I don't use them? Anything you can tell me would help me out!!!!

Hey, Jenn, welcome! Congratulations on your weight loss thus far; it is impressive. Not sure I have any tips or secrets that will help with you arms; I am a walker.

I wish you the best on your weight loss journey.

Cheers,

J

Welcome Jenn! Good work on the huge loss!

How about trying the 100 pushup challenge? Its designed to taking you from doing no pushups to being able to do 100! Pushups are great not only for your arms but also your whole body (especially abs). I'm trying this at the moment (I've been going 10 days) and can already do 20 (up from only 5).

This is the site: http://www.hundredpushups.com/ and it has modifications in case you can't do a full pushup yet. I like it because a) I can do it at home b) You don't need any equipment c) its free and quick... and d) It would be wicked cool to be able to do 100 pushups!

Hi Jenn - congrats on the weight loss so far & your workouts!
Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained!

There are lots of people here with more to lose and lots with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few weeks myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome aboard - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!
