Thumbs up Help, I've fallen and need to get back up!

First of all, I want to thank Nikolas and Jennelle. I read their posts about "falling off the wagon" and now I have the courage to do it too. I have been back to my old eating habits for the past week or so. I feel like such a slob right now. I can be on program almost to perfection for a long time but when I slip in the slightest, it's like it's eating season for me. It is hard to admit because I like to come here and encourage others and to report my progress. It is so hard to say I am not doing well. I will weigh in tommorow morning and hopefully I havent gained too much. I know I have the tendancy to gain quickly and lose quickly too when I try hard enough.
thanks for letting me get this off my chest.

We're here for ya!

I've also blown it. Not in a major way, but I was really dissappointed when I only lost a pound last week. No thanks to the pizza, the drinking, and the other fast food. But here I am, starting the new week with great determination. I've been working out and am happy about it.

So get on that scale and think, well, it could have been worse and jump back on the band wagon. We're here to help you get back on, we won't leave ya behind!

Have a GREAT day!

Lorelei...

Been there done that!! But you are here today..
What is important now is to learn from what happend. What started this? What foods did you eat too much of? What foods did you eat that you haven't eaten in a long time?

Re read this sentence you wrote:

I can be on program almost to perfection for a long time but when I slip in the slightest, it's like it's eating season for me.

Perfection???? are you serious? wow, perfection must be hard to keep up!!

Next time this happens.. what are you going to do? If you have a slip.. if you are not perfect are you going to say: "forget it - if I can't be perfect, I'm not doing this at all?"

Cut yourself some slack sweetie!! You have been doing so well - you have improved your lifestlyle 10 fold!

This is a very long journey for all of us - I am not going to be perfect today OR tomorrow - but I am going in the right direction.

Now here is your homework: say this out loud.. yes, right now

"I'm not going to be perfect - but I am going to be good" - now say it again

I hope you don't mind me giving you a kick in the pants

Love ya!!!

Dana

yeah!!! listen to dana!!!!! and one more thing. some folks find that if they plan a 'relaxed' meal, with a treat, they actually stay OP better because they KNOW that they can have what they want at their planned meal.

so, perfection is very overrated. it's one thing to be 'perfect' to lose that extra 10 pounds, but we are faced with major life changes that have to become part of our daily routine in order to lose all that weight we are carrying around.

so, pick yourself up [and try to avoid dana's flying foot!!] and go forward..

And just think, Lorelei, of how well you've done before when you're OP. I think it's good to relax every now and then as Dana mentioned because it is a long journey and you can't go through the rest of your life without a treat now and then.

OK, so now you've had yours for a while and I'm glad to see you're back in harness and ready to go again.

As others have said it is too hard to be perfect. Unfortunately for us there is no real black or white to this journey and if we try to make it like that we only fail.

It is so easy to slip back into old patterns. That is what I think "got" to me---how easily I could go back to eating everything.

Think Dana's advice is excellent.

We are lucky that we have this board and each other.

Take care.

And thanks to everyone who have given me even more encouragement by posting.

thanks guys! I feel so loved and understood by you all. You all know what it is like. Dana, I really liked what you wrote about me being perfect. I will keep it so rigid-say 1800 calories a day for weeks and then one going out to eat episode where I go way over for the day leads to a little more the next day, then the next until I am ready to get myself back in gear again. "Normal" naturally thin people dont over eat like this all the time.

thanks again-
