Default Pancakes! Ack! Help!

So tonight is "Breakfast for supper" night...and we're having pancakes and bacon. Maybe some scrambled egg whites...not sure yet.

But on the pancakes...I'm making homemade (as in no boxes here) and I'm getting confused! I keep finding recipes that make X number of pancakes or X number of servings but NO number on how many pancakes it actually makes. It's hard for a girl to figure calories for herself AND her husband!

So I found this recipe online:

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon splenda

Sift flour and baking powder in one bowl. In second beat together egg, milk, salt and sweetener. Add wet ingredients to dry until just moistened. Drop on heated griddle - 1/4 cup = 1 pancake. Makes 10 pancakes, 2 per serving.

But it comes out to 160 calories PER SERVING...which is 80 per pancake.

Is this right? Anyone else have a basic pancake recipe to share with calories counted?

Sorry, I buy the Fiber One or Quaker whole wheat pancake mixes for my kids...not a fan of the pancake!

That's ok...that does kinda help. Looked up calorie count for Fiber One pancake mix online and it came out to 180 calories in 1/2 cup...so it'd make two 1/4 cup pancakes....fairly equal to my recipe...

Ya, I gave up on pancakes when I realized that making them with whole wheat flour ruined the total gluttony of the moment...lol! They are just NOT the same with WW flour!

LOL. I make them whole wheat and also mixed grain (grind up breakfast mixed grains) - so heart and tasty - and now white flour pancakes would just ruin the total gluttony of the moment.

I punched this recipe into this recipe analyzer (I'm assuming you're using skim milk) and it came up with 889 calories for the whole recipe. So for 1 serving (2 pancakes), is 178 calories or 89 calories for 1 pancake.

Does that help?

According to Calorie King a medium pancake (4 " diam ) is 85 calories. That is without syrup and butter.
