Goal # 1- To weigh/try to weigh 143 by the end of the month

Goal # 2- To do at least 50 sit ups per day

Goal # 3- To only have 1-2 "bread" servings per day....granola, bread, or cereal cause I am a carb addict!!

October already? Wow, where did the year go? I really, really feel like having fast food for dinner tonight....I don't know if I should treat myself in moderation (to a small meal) or stay away from "that" kind of food altogether. Choices, choices... Yesterday I had a "fun-size" Snickers as my treat for the day, it was about 1/2 ounce and 60 calories. Tasty. It was good for the soul, lol. Today should be an exercise day (strength training routine) so we will see if I get the motivation for it...exercise is not my strong suit lately.

Mango - Thanks for starting the new thread.
Saffytaffy - Good luck with your goals!

Hi Everyone,

I thought seems you started a new month for chats, that I would jump back in. After falling of the wagon for a while, I have been back at it for about a month or so. I'm doing OK, but need to keep at it, and be steady with my life style change. I am determined to do this!!

Hey everyone. I am glad it's October. My son and his gf have birthdays this month and so do I. And Halloween is my favorite holiday. I am already decorated and such.

I live in a neighborhood with very few kids young enough to trick or treat. So I have decided not to buy candy until a couple days before Halloween. In the past I would get several bag at the dollar store and all of would eat them right away lol.

I am thinking of staggering my calorie intake. Still keep it the same total for the week but have higher and lower days. I have heard this works well for some people. I am now staying under 1500 per day. So would i go higher two days? then lower two days? then in the middle?

Hey Everyone,

Today I completed my first full two weeks of being back on the wagon. I count calories and so far I've lost 4 pounds of the 14 I've gained back =(. My first goal is to lose the rest of the weight that I have gained. I got to 177 and for some reason I stopped, and now I'm back to 187 after ballooning up the 191 (yikes!! lol).

Goal #1: 177 lbs by November or mid November.
Goal #2: 165 by the end of the year.
Goal #3: Work out at least 3 times a week, but I'm shooting for 4-5 days a week.

Hydra - Hallowe'en is my favorite holiday, too. I "zig-zag" my calories, not on purpose though, it just happens that way, lol. I have a couple days higher than usual, a couple are lower, and a few are average.

shaunabear - Congrats on being back on plan for 2 weeks. Good luck with your goals!

~So I decided NOT to give in to a fast food craving tonight, even though what I was going to get was only 530calories. Instead the hubby and I had a DELICIOUS whole wheat baguette sandwich with black forest ham, marble cheese, cucumber, and leaf lettuce. It was sooooo good! I even got room for a little snack if I want it later.

Wow...its a new month! I've been sick this last week. I'm not sure if it is a cold, or an allergy...or an allergy and then a cold. Its hard to tell with me because of how bad my allergies can be. ...i guess I'll know when my husband either does or doesn't get sick. So I missed this weeks exercises and I have not been sticking to a calorie plan. I have been sticking to my overall nutritional plan. I resisted the cravings for full fat cheese and instead bought a variety of teas when I was at the store. I was crumpy about it...but that cheese would of had enough sat fat for more than a week. ...and yeah! its the friday!!!

Good Morning Ladies

Thanks MANGO for starting us up in Oct. Can't believe that there's only 3 more months until the end of the year, and I haven't put a tend in my first 10% of weight loss.

TG the scale is now working in my favor, now that I'm doing one simple thing [not eating after supper]. It was hard NOT to take that first bite, but I managed to do so and my weight is down again this morning. Hope that it will remain that way until Mondays W-I.

SAFFY TAFFY-Sorry about your computer, but it looks like you have a good plan. I'm also a carb addict, but I won't give up my bread. My trick is to have a 1/2 sand instead of a whole one. I learn that trick from the IHOP senior menu, where they sever soup/sand or salad/sand called[twofers]

WILMA-Welcome,to the chat.We all fall off the wagon sometime or another but I glad you back on,I found counting calories is the easiest way to watch your weight.

HYDRA-I have twin grand daughters that turned 9 yesterday,so Oct is a special month for me also.I don't buy to much on Halloween as the kids in my neighborhood all go to school parties and their parent think that's enough. Last year I passed out Doritos for the few trick & treaters, had so may chips left over but I put them to use buy crumbing them on the top of casseroles. Good luck with your h/m/l calorie count.

SHAUN BEAR-Congrats on your 4 lbs loss.Your goals look do able.

EARTHY WITCH-Glad that you didn't give into the fast food craving. Some of the food that they have in those place you can make at home with 1/2 the fat.

BABY BLUES-Sorry about being ill,Hope you feeling better today. When deciding of what cheese is better ff or reduced you must look at the nutritional value of both,as if they take something out they put some other ingredient to compensate.

Have a great morning, will check back later

October is a great month--cooler weather, county fairs, beautiful fall foliage. However, the end of October usually marks the beginning of a very difficult diet challenge, starting with the Halloween candy and continuing through the holidays.

So I would like to lose as much as I can in October. I have set a goal of losing 5 pounds. I lost 4 pounds in September, so to get up to 5 in October I have put the little exercising lady on my October ticker as a reminder to expend at least 150 extra calories per day in activity. Hopefully, that should do it

Shaunabear: I am in the exact same boat as you, so much so that it is eerie!

Earthywitch: Great job on avoiding the fast food. For me, with fast food, its not the calories that scare me, its the fat grams.

I ordered halloween costumes last night. My son wanted to be a ninja so I decided to be his sensei. Its going to be fun! I love Halloween.

The scale is down to 185.5 today, thank goodness. The 191 last week had me totally trippin. Although, this morning, my pants seem even tighter then they did last week.

I drank a 1.5 litre bottle of wine by myself this weekend. I'm going to find out exactly how many calories that is...lol. This morning I'm doing a glucose tolerance test, which means I get a fasting blood draw, then drink a sugar solution adn have my blood drawn every hour for three hours. its going to be a long morning. No coffee. Had to come in fasting. I get pretty cranky without food and coffee, so we'll see what comes of this...lol!
