Question Toppfast....has anyone tried it?

Hi all!

Just curious if anyone has tried The Toppfast Program. It is a fasting program similar to an optifast or medifast plan....but you can have food on some of the different programs they offer...there are three plans to choose...It is much less expensive and I just wanted to know if anyone has tried it and has had success. I am planning on trying it...any feedback would be helpful.

Thanks, Dee Etta aka tosca

Toppfast is a MLM product, which (in my opinion) generally means that it's main purpose is to line someone's pockets, and is not just about helping someone lose weight.

The big difference with OptiFast is that it is medically supervised. That's really what you are paying for. From the Optifast site:

The OPTIFAST physician provides:
* A thorough preliminary medical examination and any necessary lab tests to determine a patient's health status and rule out any risk factors.
* A customized treatment plan that is best for each patient, based on individual health status and weight loss goals.
* Continued guidance and medical monitoring of the patient's progress, health, and well being throughout the course of treatment.
* Communication with the patient's primary care physician, as necessary.

Even with all of this, OptiFast doesn't have the greatest track record for keeping the weight off.

What do you get with ToppFast?
*a calorie restricted diet
*no medical supervision or consultation
*instructions on how to save money by becoming a distributor

Sounds like a pyramid scheme.

What diet plans have you followed in the past? I would suggest making a list of the various diets you have followed, and write down what it was about them that failed or succeeded for you. Then go from there.

Find out if you need specific structure or if you are successful when making your own choices. Determine if you need more or less in food quantity. For example, if you are used to larger meals, and crave something to chew, then a liquid diet would likely be too difficult for you to stick to.

Some people may hate me for saying this, but I believe there is no magic formula, and no miracle diet. Weight Watchers, Low Carb, Sugar Busters, etc.... Unless you have a specific health problem (such as diabetes), then there is nothing unique about any of these diets that makes them any better for you than the other. They all include nutritious meal plans which restrict your overall food consumption levels, and they encourage exercise. In the end, it's all about fat and calorie intake, and increasing physical activity. The trick is finding something that is compatible with your personal tastes and habits, so that you CAN stick to it.

Please let us know what you decide to do And if it doesn't work, and you decide to follow something else, keep us updated? We all try many different methods before finding something that is just right for our own selves.

Dear Suzanne3FC,

Thanks for your reply. I have tried them all in the past. In the early 90's I had great success on Optifast thru a hospital in my area, but the program was abbandoned before any of us reached goal. I really liked not eating and even dealing with food. So I decided to try that again.. This is my 5th day on Toppfast and I feel great... not hungry and I've lost 5lbs. I know it's mostly water but I feel very good. I'm going to stay on it for a month and see what happens. I'm sleeping better and have more energy.
Thanks for your advise and I'll let you know what happens.
sincerely,onangelwings

Just checked the site myself, and truthfully, there isn't anything new in these products - nothing that you can't find somewhere else MUCH CHEAPER.

And as someone who has fasted in the past (on Optifast) I must stress that a VCLD (very low calorie diet) MUST be done under medical supervision. There's quite a few nasty side effects - like the possibility of losing your gall bladder, for instance...

Just BE CAREFUL...and keep in mind that, just because someone's selling the stuff ('distributor') doesn't make them experts.
