Default Hump Day Happenings

Good Morning

Coffee is on. Tea water, too. It looks like we'll have another sunny Colorado day. Fall is in the air but there's still plenty of time to enjoy our warm weather.

Thanks to all of you for your kind words yesterday. Lexxiss is responding to anti-inflammatory meds and seems to feel better this morn. We're going in for a chest xray after our walk. We had a nice visit with DD and she'll return to Denver later. I feel like a free woman since completing my display, but I'm sure that this afternoon will bring my next project.

I'm going to try something a bit unusual and see if I could get a bit more rest this morning so I'll see you all in a bit. I'm anxious to get to the pool today and may see what I could do to get back on my bike.

Hope your morning isn't too rushed. What's up in your world? Sit down and visit for a bit.

Debbie, I'm thinking of your poor doggie today and hope she can be kept comfortable.

Big day ahead with wallboard happening and the painter/decorator here for a paint and planning meeting. (The wallboard did arrive late in the day yesterday.) I also need to mark out my flower beds because they will be getting ready to seed the grass. My contractor is really on top of all this and is apologizing that we are a bit behind schedule. All the finishing and other nitty gritty is going to run to at least mid-September.

I dried another 3 litres of peaches overnight and need to figure out something to do with my cucumbers today. The silly things (straight eights) are very fat so I think it will be relish of some sort. I also need to fight another battle of Mouse Wars and may have to call in my WMD!

Happy Hump Day!

Good morning, Debbie, and thanks for getting today's thread going. I'm glad Lexxiss is feeling better today and hope she continues to do well.

It was hard to get up this morning, but it's time to get back into the work mode again after the last couple days. Today we have Sneak-A-Peek at school, where the girls will meet their respective teachers and see their classrooms. They're very excited, and Audrey is especially looking forward to having 2 of her former classmates from the private school she used to attend being in her class this year. I don't know what we'll be doing the rest of the day, but it's supposed to be a hot one again.

good morning Today is the drive home day. we are taking the long scenic trip through the White Mtns. It looks like a nice day for it and it's such a gorgeous drive.

Debbie - Thinking about you and the pup. I'm glad the meds are helping.

Ruth - Cucumbers make even better snack chips than zucchini. I like mine best with some dill, onion powder and a light sprinkle of salt. They also make nice little crunchy bots for salads. tomorrow I'm back to serious dehydrating. I want to get a lot more squash and greens in before the season ends. Hope the day isn't too stressful for everyone.

Linda - Have a good school visit. Sounds like a good afernoon for relaxing by the pool

Okay, packing to do and a road to get on See you all back at home.

Good Morning, Everyone,

Debbie, I'm glad your hubby is home with you while you're taking care of Lexxiss.

Ruth, You need a cat! My Clovis was h3ll on mousies when she was young!

Cottage, I know your girls are excited about school starting. Enjoy your final days of summer.

Cyndi, Enjoy your drive today. Keep your eyes on the road, too.

Me: Yesterday I made a comment on Facebook about a man coming into the office barefoot. Later in the thread, the president of our board of directors also made a comment on my comment. I guess it's probably not a good idea to talk about work clients on Facebook. Ooops! I didn't say Barefoot Man's name...

Today is my short day, in that I can come home after work. No Jazzercise. WooHoo!!! I have hamburger out for dinner. I was going to make meatloaf, but my MIL made it last night. I could do hamburgers.... or chili.... or taco salad... I don't know.

Hope your day is fabulous!

Chelby, a BIG oopsy on the FB comment! It's hard to remember that so many people can read your comments. How about Taco Bake for supper? That's fast and easy, and so good!

Enjoy your trip back, Cyndi!

Debbie, I'm so glad Lexxiss seems to be responding to the anti-inflammatory!

Ruth, mouse wars! LOL. We live in the middle of nowhere and when the weather gets cool, the field mice head for our garage, so I can definitely relate. Good luck!

Cottage, I hope the girls have a fun time at sneak-a-peek.

Cyndi, have a safe trip and enjoy the drive!

Chelby, I've had similar facebook experiences. Like when I smarted off about haircut regret, and the next day my hairdresser (of over 5 years) friended me and saw the comment. oops!

Today I'm driving to a friend's house to pick up a book I'm borrowing for one of my classes. It's over an hour each way, but the book costs $125 used, so it's worth the drive!! I also need to get to the grocery store, but might have to do it after I pick DS up from school. My classes start tomorrow so I'll be around less at least on the days I drive to school because it's over 3 hours round trip.

I thought I remembered seeing Ezekial bread in the freezer section at the local grocery store , so I ran up there last night and they DO have it! They have half a dozen different varieties from that company, as well as the Ezekial buns. Yay!!

Have a fantastic day, everyone!

What a thought, that I'd ever be able to go back to bed . The dogs are both brushed on one side-now if I could just get them to roll over. I've started up my charity knitting-this month is Heeling Partners so I'm finishing a hat. Its just getting fun.

Ruth, thanks for the doggie wishes. As I knitted this morning, I thought of how wonderful it will be in your new quilting room. I could enjoy sewing, but I don't have the room.

Jasmine, what school do you attend? Great on finding the Ezekial bread. I really enjoy it.

Cyndi, have fun settling back at home.

Chelby, FB can be sensitive. Oh well. It's your favorite day! Enjoy!

Cottage, how long are you able to use your pool in fall? Have a great day with the girls. The first days of school were always fun.

Good Morning Ladies! Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday! I have to go back to work tomorrow so I need to get all my weekend "loose ends" tied up... I also have to do a friends hair that I didn't get to yesterday- so I will try to do that as early as possible... I definitely want to get to the gym this morning too. so much to do!

Has anyone heard anything about the appliance rebate the govt will be offering? Last I heard it was supposed to be starting this fall... I really really need a new dishwasher but I was trying to hold out- may not be worth the wait though!

Lex- Glad your pooch is feeling better!

Cyndi- Enjoy your scenic drive- thats one of my favorite things to do!

Ruth- Sounds like things are coming right along to me- and you have a good contractor!

Cottage- Enjoy your day!

Chelby- I haven't made that mistake yet but it would be all too easy to do. I actually saw my superiors on there on a friends comment and I thought about befriending them and changed my mind... I also looked who all they had as friends and NO ONE I work with was on there! LOL so no worries from that perspective for me!

Jasmine-Enjoy your drive as well! Hopefully there will be some nice scenery along the way! Think of it as your meditation time before starting school

Debbie, I attend University of Texas' Tyler campus. It has a well-recognized teacher prep curriculum and the drive time is about the same as if I were going into Dallas with traffic.

Rikki, I haven't heard anything about the rebate lately - I wonder if/when it'll happen?

I'll try to get back on and do personals later. Work is busy today and I'm tired because I got paged at midnight for something that never should have been escalated. I HATE missing an hour of sleep to hang out on the phone. I can never get back to sleep very well afterwards.

Brian was up late last night with two writing assignments. I don't know how late because I went to bed but I know it was later than he should have been up. Middle school definitely has more homework. We had to go out and buy supplies for two more of his classes. I hope the fact that we don't have a list from 4 classes means they have no list but I bought extra boxes of tissues just in case.

I'm in the office today but I need to try to get out of here before 4 so I can pick up Brian at the bus stop. Schmoodle is in town but I've got a meeting tonight so we won't be able to meet up. Hopefully we can next time she comes.

jrizzle - Too bad you don't come to Dallas. I live less than two miles from UT Dallas.

Well, still sick here. I'm not really on phase 1 because the throat drops and all the remedies they told me to use for the virus have sugar in them. I'm using this sick time to re-read the book, make grocery lists, and remove all the temptations from the freezer, fridge and pantry. I'm disappointed not to be able to start yet, but I think starting while sick is probably not the best idea.

On the bright side, I'm NOT using it as an excuse to eat all the icecream and junk that I want to. I'm eating my soft diet, but not pigging out like I would have before.

Hello everyone,

Another busy day at work, sounds like everyone is doing good. Chelby, I try to watch everything I write because it can all come back to haunt you. LOL

Tonight DD2 has soccer practice and I want to sign her up for Dance it will be in the town next to us so only 5 miles to drive her which is good for us and she has been wanting to start. Other than that not much going on.

Have a great day everyone.

Pearlrose,

Skyblue, get well soon!

Rikki, I'd be interested in the appliance rebate, too.

Barb, too bad about the pager. Sounds like it was something not worth it. Once I'm wakened, I have a hard time going back to sleep. Better luck tonight!

Me, spending the afternoon cooking up some different soups and beans to have on hand. I have the time today and didn't feel like doing much else. Lexi's chest xray came back clear, so another vet is going to look at the original xrays before we do a biopsy. Shes very perky today which makes me feel good. We had a nice walk this morning.
