Default It feels good to be able to....

Let's finish this sentence with things we are now able to do that we weren't before or that were very difficult but have gotten easier with our getting healthier and stronger !

It feels good to be able to....

- take the dogs for a LONG walk and not feel tired.
- clean the whole house, including carpet cleaning, and still have energy leftover
- not have to have a nap in the middle of the day because I'm so tired
- get winded after going up 1 flight of stairs
- not have to worry if I'll be able to fit in a chair

There are so many more but those are what I can think of off the top of my head.

It feels so good to be able to -

--Work an entire 8 hour shift on my feet.
--Walk for 40 minutes, do yoga for 20, and STILL be able to play DDR with my (future) SIL.
--Play tennis and chase the ball all over the court.
--Work towards becoming a runner, which is what I ALWAYS wanted to do.

... walk without stopping every few minutes (I used to pretend to be looking for something in my bag just so I could rest for a minute)

... do up my laces and put on sock without holding my breath

... go shopping without wondering if the very biggest size they do in the big clothes shop will even fit me!

... pick things up off the floor without feeling like I would injure myself!

... rest things on my knees when I sit (rather than just my belly resting on them!)

... try out more positions in the bedroom!

... meet new people without feeling embarrassed!

. . . put my socks on in the morning without it feeling like a contortionists routine. You know, when you sit on the bed and have to actually psyche yourself up to lift a leg up to put a sock on bcos there is no way you can bend down with the belly in the way. Then you use momentum to swing your leg up and hope to God you can catch it so that you can get those knee high socks on and make it to work on time.

Sigh.

It also feels good to wrap a normalish sized towel around me

. . . rest my handbag or MY WHOLE BACKPACK on my lap on the packed train in the morning. I recall when there was no room on there for anything but my belly.

I love this thread!

It feels good to:

1. Wear high-heeled shoes for more than 10 minutes before I have to take them off. (I can wear them for a few hours now!)

2. See that I don't actually have kankles! (No more edema)

3. Extend my time on the ellipitcal cross trainer because my knees don't hurt as much any longer.

4. Drive past fast food places and not feel compelled to stop.

Take a bath.
Buckle my seatbelt.
Bend over to tie shoelaces or pick items up.
Pull my pants down without unbuttoning them. Hmmm, I think I might need new pants soon or I'll be mooning folks.

... set my goals for the day, and actually feel confident that I can do it, and excited to try to do it, instead of cringing.

..bend over to pick something up off the floor without my face turning beet red!

..try on new and pretty clothes knowing that if they don't fit, its because they are too big rather than too small!

..wear clothes that no long resemble potato sacks meant to hide my girth..who was kidding with that?!?!

..put on a bathing suit and go swimming for the first time in over 10 years.
